Virat Kohli’s family literally attacks Gautam Gambhir after India collapse in Test cricket

Virat Kohli’s elder brother Vikas Kohli has launched a fresh attack on Indian national cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir amid the team’s struggles in Test cricket.
Vikas Kohli took a dig at Gautam Gambhir and said he tried to become overbearing and made unnecessary changes to the Test setup even though things were not broken.
There was a time when we played to win even in foreign conditions – Virat Kohli’s brother attacks Gautam Gambhir
The India national cricket team, last year, faced a humiliating 0-3 at the hands of the New Zealand national cricket team in the home Test series.
Your daily dose of cricket!
It was the first such instance in the history of Test cricket that India suffered a whitewash at home in a Test series. Moreover, in the ongoing Test series against South Africa, India have looked miserable.
They lost the first Test match at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, and in the ongoing match in Guwahati, they are set to face a humiliating defeat.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli’s elder brother Vikas Kohli is angry over India’s struggles as he has turned to Threads to take an indirect dig at Gautam Gambhir.
“There was a time when we played to win, even in foreign conditions. Now we play to save the game, even in India. This is what happens when you try to lead and unnecessarily change things that weren’t broken,” wrote Vikas Kohli.
Vikas Kohli breaks down India’s ‘bad’ Test strategy
Virat Kohli’s brother, in another thread, compared the strategy of India and South Africa. He highlighted how India have increased their reliance on specialist all-rounders, while the Proteas still rely on specialists, which is the reason for their success. He declared:
“So let’s break it down: Indian team strategy: Remove senior and experienced players. Remove good 3/4/5 batmen. Play bowler at no.3.
“Use all-rounders……. SOUTH AFRICAN STRATEGY: Play a good Test match team: Specialist openers. Specialist No. 3/4/5/6 batting.
What we want to see now is a real fightback – Parthiv Patel
In an interaction on JioHotstar, former wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel spoke about India needing 522 runs to win with 8 wickets in hand. He said India had to show an unreal fightback on a spinning track to save the match. He said:
“What we want to see now is a real fightback and some determination from the Indian batters. The need to play a little more towards the body line, to defend properly – those are exactly the things you want to see, and they are expected at this stage.”
“Yes, the ball spins, definitely, and it bounces too, but not as much as in Kolkata. On this pitch, if you show a little more technique, you can survive and play well.”
