President Trump dismissed the congress librarian because she promoted diversity, equity and inclusion, said the White House on Friday, making Dr. Carla Hayden one of the most colored leaders to be targeted in the administration campaign to remove discussions on breed and sex in American cultural establishments.
Karoline Leavitt, the press secretary of the White House, said that the administration thought that Dr. Hayden “did not meet the needs of the American people” and that her dismissal results from “quite worrying things she had done at the Congress Library in pursuit of Dei”
Ms. Leavitt did not offer any evidence of “Dei” of activities, Dr. Hayden, she accused Dr. Hayden of authorizing “inappropriate books in the library for children”.
“We do not think that it serves the interests of the American taxpayer,” added Ms. Leavitt. “She was therefore withdrawn from her post, and the president is good because of doing so.”
Dr. Hayden could not be joined to comment on Friday.
Dr. Hayden, whose dismissal shocked the academics and democrats of the furious congress, was appointed by former president Barack Obama in 2016 and served throughout Mr. Trump’s first mandate.
Dr. Hayden was the last head of the high -ranking black government to be chopped in the administration crusade against Dei – who has become a characteristic of his second term and frequently targeted women and people in color.
General Charles Q. Brown Jr., a four-star fighter pilot known as CQ who has only become the second African-American to be appointed president of the chiefs of joint staff, was replaced in the middle of the insistence of the president that the army management was too embarrassed in the issues of diversity.
Dr. Hayden had also become a conservative target while the administration increased efforts to serve the federal government of employees and “awakened” entities.
A few hours before Dr. Hayden was informed of his dismissal on Thursday, a conservative group called the American Accountability Foundation called his dismissal on social networks.
“The current #Librarianofcongress Carla Hayden is awakened, anti-Trump and promotes trans-id children,” displayed the organization. “It’s time to get it out and hire a new guy for work!”
A few hours after its dismissal was made public, the group congratulated the president. “Thank you @potus !!!!” they wrote. “The Woke & Radical Librarian of the Carla Hayden Congress was dismissed!”
Dr. Hayden has become the librarian of the congress after a long race as a baltimore chief librarian, her longtime house, where she had revised the city’s public library system. She was dismissed in an email of two sentences from the personnel and management office, which addressed the librarian estimated simply as “Carla”.
On Friday, in a letter to the staff of the library, Robert R. Newlen, the deputy for Dr. Hayden who has known her for 40 years and replaced him in an acting, welcomed his reputation as a “non -partisan energetic official”.
