The Oklahoma manager says that all secondary schools will have chapters of turning point after Charlie Kirk Killing | Oklahoma

The state superintendent in Oklahoma has announced his intention to put Turning Point USA chapters in each high school in the state, saying that this contrasts “radical union of left teachers” and their “waking update”.

After the far-right activist Charlie Kirk was killed on a university campus earlier this month, requests to start the chapters of his group of young conservatives, Turning Point, in colleges and high schools increased, the organization said.

Oklahoma is the first state where the government is involved to promote the start of these chapters. In a press release on Tuesday, Ryan Walters, the Oklahoma superintendent, explained how students could start a chapter of “Club America”, the organization’s high school program, bringing together at least three students from the same school and completing an agreement to Charter. Then Turning Point will help the club get a teacher sponsor and official recognition, and send documents such as a “activism kit”.

“We are going to put Tpusa on each Oklahoma high school campus,” Walter said in the press release. “Charlie Kirk inspired a generation to love America, to speak boldly and never hesitate to the debate. Our children must get involved and active. We will fight against liberal propaganda, driven by the radical left and teachers’ unions. Our fight begins now. “

In a video published on X, Walters went further against the “radical leftists” who “dominate classrooms and push awakened indoctrination”. “They fight the rights of parents, they push parents out of the classroom and they lie to our children on American history,” he said. The Turning Point chapters would allow children to participate in the “dialogue on American grandeur, a dialogue around American values”.

When asked by a local journalist what would happen in a school that said that he would not open a chapter in the group, Walters said that he would go after the school accreditation. “They would risk not being a school district if they decided to reject a club which is there to promote civic commitment,” he said. “Everything would be on the table in this scenario.”

Nadine Gallagher, a teacher in Oklahoma, told the Koco local press station that if the students wanted to create a club, she was “everything for that”. But, she said, “I like nothing to force.”

Andrew Kolvet, the Turning Point USA spokesman, said the group had received a “massive increase in requests for information to start new chapters”, especially after the Sunday memorial for Kirk.

“We are now more than 120,000 requests.

Turning chapters are organized around conservative principles, and the organization’s activism kits “favor questions ranging from voters’ recording, freedom of expression and access to firearms, kits entitled” Make America Healthy Again “, according to USA TODAY. The other Turning Point projects include a “teacher’s surveillance list” and a surveillance list of the school board which identifies people who have left opinions. The Turning Point chapters on university campuses also welcome conservative speakers.

Kirk has often made university visits to debate students and advanced opinions in person and on his podcast which were sometimes racist, sexist or otherwise derogatory, including that there was a “great replacement strategy” in progress via immigration, that Islam is a “threat to America” and that “in Urban America, the blacks who come from blacks to adapt.”

Walters has been criticized for repeated cases of push of religion and right -wing policy in the schools of Oklahoma. He sought to demand state schools to show a video to pray to him. He pushed to create the first Catholic public charter school in the country, against which the United States Supreme Court ruled in May.

He bought Donald Trump brand bibles, which he wants to put in classrooms. He installed eminent right figures such as the activist behind the anti-LGBTQ + groups of Tiktok and the head of the Heritage Foundation on the committees of state education.

He also said he wanted to demand that teachers come to teach liberal states in Oklahoma to finish a “America First” certification. He pushed to include 2020 electoral fraud plots in the state’s social school studies program.

Walters also published a press release on September 17 saying that teachers who made derogatory comments on Kirk after his death would be dismissed.

Walters said that his office had received 224 reports of “defamatory comments” on Kirk by school staff, 30 reports of “not observing a moment of silence” and three school reports that refused to reduce their flags for Kirk. The department has identified 70 certified teachers who “made statements concerning the murder of Charlie Kirk”.

“Any teacher publishing defamatory and flagrant comments will not teach in the Oklahoma classrooms and any school which refused to participate in a moment of silence and / or lowering his flags for Charlie Kirk is currently the subject of a survey,” the press release said.

Oklahoma ranks among the lowest states of the quality of public education, with a recent survey putting the state in 50th place.
