Sai Sudharsan described his first test test as a “surrealist” after being appointed to the team in India for the next five -game test series in England, according to Espncriricinfo. “It’s obviously great. Feels very special to be honest, and also surreal. Any cricket player, a young cricket player who is starting to cricket, wants to play test cricket, wants to play for the country,” he said, quoted by Espncricinfo. “The ultimate goal is always to play test cricket. So very happy for that,” he added.

After pillars of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli pillars, Sudharsan is expected to be part of the new Top Four of India. Although he generally opens the Tamil Nadu striker in the Ranji trophy, Sudharsan expressed his desire to beat in any position for the national team.

“Sir, I think that playing for the country itself is a very big privilege for a cricket player. So I don’t think I’m able to choose where I want to play,” said Sai Sudharsan.

“Wherever the coaches tell me to play, I think I will be mentally and obviously skillfully, you know, try to be ready for the opportunity,” he added.

“I have a lot to love. I think I should be ready for the (position) that the team gives me. I will be ready for that,” he noted.

Adding to the important occasion, its test debut could take up the management of Shubman Gill, his captain at Gujarat Titans (GT), who has just been appointed new Beld-Ball skipper.

“I mean, Shubhi (Shubman Gill) is, over the years, I have also been part of its growth,” said Sai Sudharsan, quoted by Espncriricinfo.

“I have seen him for four years. A drummer so talented, such a skillful drummer, anyone can see,” he added.

“So I think he will certainly make laurels and great things for the country and I am grateful and I am very happy to play under him in my first series of tests,” he noted.

The long -awaited series begins on June 20, but Sudharsan and Gill will first join India a team for the second four -day match against the Lions of England, which should start on June 6 in Northampton.

“I always feel the first story finished, then I go to the next because now IPL is also the most important when we are in IPL (Indian Premier League),” he said, quoted by Espncricinfo.

“So I think it is also the most important to finish this, then obviously, we will have time to prepare. I will therefore use this day support so that we are ready for the series of tests,” he added.

For the moment, however, Sudharsan remains focused on the Indian Premier League, where the Gujarat titans have obtained a place in the direct elimination stadium.

He also recognized the unique challenge of moving from T20 format to large pace with the most demanding rhythms of test cricket.

“The transition from white ball to the red ball takes a little time,” he said, quoted by Espncricinfo.

“I think I focus much more on my basics. I focus much more on my patience even outside the field,” he added.

“The more you are patient, the more it reflects inside the field. So, the test cricket is a question of patience and longevity. So I think that the more I focus on this, the more I am aware, I think it will be a great experience,” he noted.
