Robot Arboration made its MLB All-Star game in Atlanta game

Should the referees update their LinkedIn? Depending on the appearance of the MADDITY Ligue of the Major League Star Match in Atlanta, perhaps.

A robot referee, propelled by automated technology and used for the first time during an MLB All-Star game, helped to reverse four ball calls / strike, reports the CBC. Only one call, Marlins outfall, Kyle Stowers, did not lead to a call modification after the contribution of the automated ball ball system.

“The ABS system powered by the 5G network of T-Mobile uses the Hawk-Eye system to follow the trajectory and the location of a step to relay an immediate verdict on the fact that it was a ball or a strike,” notes the MLB.

According to the League, the fans were receptive to technological intervention, which was introduced in the minor leagues in 2021 and the Triple AAA matches the following year. Launchers, sensors and strikers are the only players authorized to contest the decision of an referee, and the calls must be made immediately after the field.
