Grilled asparagus is the best spring and summer accompaniment dish! He is tender, juicy and slightly charred, and he cooks in a few minutes on the grill. Simply seasoned with olive oil, salt, pepper and perhaps a pinch of lemon juice, it goes perfectly with almost all meals.

Below you will find my easy method for cooking asparagus on grill, With my favorite ways to serve it.

Even if you are skeptical of asparagus, I hope you are trying this recipe. My husband Jack claimed that he hated asparagus, but once he tried her toasted, he became a convert. Who knows? You might like it too!

How to grill the asparagus

Ready to learn to grill the asparagus? Here is what you need to do:

Prepare asparagus

To prepare fresh asparagus for grills, start by cutting it. Use a sharp knife to cut the woody ends of the spears, or use your hands to gently fold each stem until it takes. It should be divided where the woody end of the lance meets the tender rod. Throw the wooded part.

Then season it. Mix the asparagus with olive oil and pinches of salt and pepper. These simple seasonings will help the asparagus to soften and load on the grill.

Grill the asparagus

Preheat a grill or a pan over heat over medium-high-high. Let it become beautiful and warm, then use pliers to place the asparagus on the hot grill grids.

Grill until the asparagus is slightly charred and bright green below. Turn the spears over with pliers and grill until they are tense and slightly charred on all sides.

Remove grill. Season with a taste and, if you want, press lemon juice before serving.

How long to grill the asparagus

The cooking time of this recipe will vary depending on the heat of your grill and the thickness of your asparagus lances.

I usually grill asparagus for 6 to 8 minutes, but very thick spears can take a few more minutes. Thin spears can take a few minutes less! Asparagus is ready when it is bright, tender and slightly charred green.

What to serve with grilled asparagus

I love seasoning grilled asparagus simply with olive oil, salt, pepper and lemon juice. But if you want to dress it more, don’t hesitate! Garnish with one of these fillings for a fresh and tasty accompaniment dish:

  • Fresh herbs like basil, dill or parsley
  • Grilled nuts like pines or almonds
  • A pinch of cheese like feta cheese or grated parmesan
  • Watering a vinaigrette or sauce Like chemichurri, a reduction in balsamic vinegar, or my lemon vinaigrette
  • Or lemon zest For an additional touch of lively flavor

Combine it with your favorite protein for easy dinner during the week or serve it alongside vegetarian burgers, black bean burgers or hamburgers of Portobello mushrooms during a barbecue.

  • Place on the warm grill grids and toast for 6 to 8 minutes, or until they are charred but always bright green, turning or rolling once.

  • Press with lemon juice, season with a taste and serve.
