Rebel Wilson on training with stunt coordinators ‘Batman’

Rebel Wilson wants to see his character “Pitch Perfect”, Fat Amy, getting married in the fourth episode of the comedy franchise.

She hopes that the film will film next year. “We are many of us who are directors now,” she said Variety Wednesday evening during the premiere of “hard bride”. “There are a lot of candidates – Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow, Kay Cannon, who is the original writer and Elizabeth Banks, so we will see. I am about to make another film, so that keeps me busy until next year. I hope it will be in production next year.”

When asked what is the next step for Fat Amy, Wilson said: “I think there should be a wedding.”

The actress finds the co-star of “Pitch Perfect” Anna Camp in “Bride Hard”, an action comedy with Anna Chlumsky, Da’vine Joy Randolph, Gigi Zumbado, Stephen Dorff and Justin Hartley. The story follows Sam (Wilson), a secret agent who allowed his high -level work to prioritize everything that is in his life, including being the bridesmaid for marriage to her best friend Betsy (camp).

Determined to prove that she can be there for her friend, Sam is thrown into another mission when a group of mercenaries crushes the wedding and holds the guests hostage. The project was carried out by Simon West and written by Shaina Steinberg.

To prepare for his combat scenes, Wilson trained for five weeks, focusing on packaging and choreography with the waterfall coordinators who worked with Robert Pattinson and Zoë Kravitz on their roles in “Batman”. She was also clever to use Nunchucks, which was useful for a particular scene where she used curly irons as a weapon to fight one of the mercenaries.

“When I was 18, I trained for a hostile martial arts combat tournament in South Africa,” she said. “I trained for six months, so I had a little bit of karate background, but it was a long time ago.”

On the carpet, Wilson also discussed retirement with camp after their work together in “Pitch Perfect”.

“We play a slightly different dynamic in this film,” she said. “In” Pitch Perfect “, it is very tense, and I am more like – what we call comedy – the wavy line. In this one, because I am an operator, I am no longer the straight line, and it is the corrugated line, playing a sort of so-called Mariée. It is good to change our dynamics. “

She added: “You can say in the film that we are so good friends. There is just a good camaraderie. We shot this during the writer’s strike, so some scenes were not entirely written. But because we were besides, we could play it well and improvise it quite well.”

Camp shared similar feelings about how their real link has shaped the way she addressed her role. “We have known each other for 14 years and we have an incredible dialogue together,” she said. “We can make ourselves laugh, feel comfortable on the set and try crazy jokes, which we did all the time. It made us feel that we were the best friends because we are. ”

The actress shared her support for “Pitch Perfect 4” and what she would like to see of her character. “I would like to see her move in the desert like Joshua Tree and become a hippie bad and be completely the opposite of the way she started so tense. Now she is so loose and crazy.”
