PWHL Vancouver signs the choice of first round Michelle Karvinen

PWHL Vancouver signed the striker Michelle Karvinen to a one-year standard player agreement for the 2025-26 season. The Olympian quadruple was selected seventh in the general classification of the recovery of the entrance to the June PWHL.
“Michelle is a proven winner and a veteran of hockey with a multitude of experience, and we are delighted to welcome a player of his caliber at PWHL Vancouver,” said CELECE DIRECTOR CARA GARDNER Morey. “His leadership on and out of the ice will be extremely important for the success of our team this season.”
Karvinen, 35, was born in Rodovre, Denmark, and represents International Finland. She made her debut at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games and has three Olympic bronze medals. In April, when he was a captain, she became the main marker of Finland at the IIHF women’s world championship with 62 points (24 goals, 38 assists).
Karvinen’s Won Titles in Four League: Finland’s Auroraliiga (Espoo Blues, 2007-08 and 2008–09), Switzerland’s Swhl (Ladies Team Lugano, 2020–21), Russia’s Zhhl (KRS Vanke Rays, 2021–22) and Sweden’s Sdhl (Three With Lulea, plus Frolunda HC in 2024-25). She produced 35 points (21G, 14A) in 32 games last season with Frolunda, adding 12 points (5G, 7A) in 11 playoffs.

Today, you once again had a dream. … I feel very honored to join the British Columbia and Columbia community, to be part of raising the female hockey bar even higher and being part of PWHL Vancouver from the first tar.”
Karvinen is the first player never written by Vancouver and the first player in the Restchage class to sign. PWHL Vancouver opens its inaugural season on November 21 at home against Pwhl Seattle at the Pacific Coliseum.
