PBS Kids announces a new Street Sesame affair

PBS is proud to announce that PBS Kids will continue to be a home for Sesame Street, extending the over 50 years of history of the use of public television power to provide free critical learning to children across the country. This heritage will continue as part of a new multi -year agreement which will see its debut in season 56 on PBS stations and on digital video platforms and PBS Kids.

With the support of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) and the PBS, this partnership guarantees PBS’s ability to continue to make this programming with a proven educational impact accessible to children in the United States for free and without advertisements. The episodes will also be available on Netflix the same day.

What this means about PBS children and public media:

  • New episodes will be published on PBS stations, the PBS Kids channel and on the digital PBS Kids platforms.
  • An extended collection of 25 new library episodes will be available to broadcast on the digital platforms PBS Kids. New episodes will also be available on Netflix the same day.
  • New games will be added to the increasing library of 25+ of Sesame Street Games available on pbskids.org and the PBS Kids Games application.
  • Complete episodes and clips will be available on the PBS Kids YouTube channel.
