Park Chan-Wook’s No Other Choice acquired by Neon

Park Chan-Wook’s latest “No Anter Choice” found a North American distributor.
Neon has acquired North American rights on the last South Korean author, which should be presented later this year in Venice.
“No other choice” is based on Donald Westlake’s novel in 1997 “The Axe”. He follows a man of average age who is dismissed from his longtime work and becomes more and more desperate. When he discovers the other people who are ready for the same position, he begins … slimmed the competition. The novel has already been adapted in 2005 by Costa-Gavras (his daughter is one of the producers of the new film).
Lee Byung-Hun and his son Yejin play the husband and the woman, with a support casting which includes Park Hee-Soon, Lee Sung-Min, Yeom Hye-Ran, Cha Seung-Won and Yoo Yeon-Seok.
Neon and CJ ENM after the release of “Parasite”, which was a prize -cereal power plant, finally becoming the first non -English -speaking linguistic film to win the best film academy. Previously, Neon had acquired the rights of the masterpiece of Park “Oldboy”, which they remained and reissued.
“No Other Choice” was produced by Park and Back Jisun of Moho Film and Michèle Ray Gavras and Alexandre Gavras from Kg Production, and Executive produced by Miky Lee by CJ Group.
Park’s latest film was the Hitchcockian thriller “Decision to L’In le Part” of 2022. He also co-created “The Sympathizer” for HBO in 2024, finally making three episodes and even writing episodes. He also co-wrote and produced the historic “uprising” of Netflix in 2024.
