Newcastle seeks to sign a new striker this summer, regardless of Liverpool’s result and Arsenal’s interest in Alexander Isak. Having been snubbed by Joao Pedro, they could now move for a market opportunity.
Newcastle has been plagued by PSR disorders in recent years, but for this summer, there will be no problem. No decision has yet been completed, but funds greater than 100 million pounds sterling will be expected during the remaining weeks of the transfer window.
But in their attempt to sign a new safeguard attacker to Isak due to the expected departure of Callum Wilson, they can avoid paying transfer fees.
Newcastle and Fulham in competition for Dominic Calvert-Lewin
According to Football Insider, Newcastle is one of the clubs ready to intensify their pursuit of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is a free agent when his Everton contract expires on Tuesday. Fulham is also credited with an interest in the 28 -year -old, who has 57 Premier League goals during his career.
In addition to Newcastle and Fulham, there should be clubs outside the Premier League who plan to move for Calvert-Lewin, who announced this weekend that he would not sign a new agreement to Everton. West Ham has also had interviews in recent weeks, so there will be many contenders to face.
As a backup to Isak, Newcastle could do much worse than signing Calvert -Lewin, although there are concerns about his injury file – in particular given Wilson’s inability to stay in shape in the reason why he leaves St James when his own contract is exhausted.
For the moment, it remains to be seen if Calvert -Lewin goes to Newcastle – or Fulham. It would not be a glamorous signature for one or the other club, but it could be very effective.
