Imane Khelif: Olympic champion calls on Ban, because world boxing insists on the genetic sex test for competitors | Boxing news

The Algerian fighter Imane Khelif called on the Sports Arbitration Court (CAS) on the decision of the world boxing to intervene from his events without preliminary genetic sexual test.

A statement from the court said that an appeal had been filed by Khelif on August 5 seeking to cancel a world boxing decision blocking its participation in the CUP box in Eindhoven or any world boxing event until it has undergone genetic sex tests.

The call also seeks to a case declaration that Khelif is eligible to participate without testing in the world boxing championships between September 4 and 14.

The press release said that a request for suspension of the world’s boxing decision to prohibit Khelif until the case was heard was rejected on Monday.

Written submissions are exchanged between the parties, according to the press release, and a hearing will be provided with their agreement.

Khelif won the gold of the Welters Olympic Welters in Paris last summer after being authorized to compete by the International Olympic Committee, although the International Boxing Association of having prohibited it from the World Championships of the previous year for having pretended to meet the criteria of eligibility in the sexes.

After his victory as a gold medal, Khelif said: “I am fully qualified to participate in this competition – I am a woman.

“I was born a woman, I lived as a woman and I contributed as a woman. There is no doubt that there are enemies of success, and that gives my success a special taste because of these attacks.”
