Apple (AAPP) brings the biggest changes to the iPhone over the years with its next iOS 26 software. I use a beta version of the operating system, and although it has taken a little time to get used to it, I generally appreciate wide -based refreshment.
Available for download in public beta on Thursday, iOS 26 provides a new denomination agreement pinned in the coming year, in this case 2026, as well as a brand new look.
Apple calls the new aesthetic liquid glass, due to its translucent characteristics which give the impression that the light deforms and leans around the pimples, sliders and application folders. Like any major software change, iOS 26 is sure to arouse controversy for certain users.
Apple has already resumed translcery in certain menus after early complaints in the readability of users. But iOS 26 does not only come with a stylistic youthful treatment. It also provides improvements to telephone and messages, as well as AI visual intelligence by APA. There is even a new game application that acts like a hub for all your adventures killing time.

But it is difficult to imagine iOS 26 stimulating iPhone sales, which is Apple’s main objective. People generally improve their phones according to hardware improvements, such as better batteries or improved cameras, no new software.
However, iOS 26 could define the table for what should be Apple’s foray into Superthin smartphones, including, according to Mark Gurman de Bloomberg, an iPhone 17 Air later this fall. This air will also help guide a future foldable phone, a smaller market dominated by manufacturers of Android devices like Samsung.
This makes the right software all the more important since the company is preparing for some of the most radical changes in its phones from the iPhone X.
Part of Apple’s decision to deploy liquid glass, said the company was to create a coherent look on all its devices, from iPhone to iPad to Mac. But most users will experience the software on their iPhones.
And although this is a big change, it is not like downloading the update and should learn to use your iPhone from zero. Almost all menus and applications you are used to are exactly the same. This does not mean that some people will not like the new look.
I like to see the light move in the application folders on my home screen, even if they remind the “Candy Crush” blocks a bit. But after a while, I barely noticed the change. And for people who are not fans of the design update, you can always adjust the color and shade of icons and application files.

The locking screen was also reworked. Time now adapts to better match your background photo, and you can add a 3D effect to your image. You will also see an animated album cover image when you listen to songs with Apple Music +.
Facetime, Phone and Messages applications now have customizable backgrounds, live translation and the possibility of probing your friends when you and the gang want to determine where to take dinner.
Visual Intelligence obtains improved options, including the possibility of seeing what is on your screen via screenshots, which you can then use to search for elements, images or text – such as the details of a concert announced on Instagram. Take a screenshot of an upcoming sporting event with the date, and Visual Intelligence will automatically ask you if you want to add it to your calendar.
Camera and photos applications are also more rationalized. Rather than displaying a variety of shooting settings, the camera application now offers photo and video options at the bottom of the screen. Press the buttons and slide on the left and right, and you will find the portrait, the Slo-Mo and other functions.

Apple has brought the view of the tab for the photo application, so that your photo library and your collections now appear separately rather than on a single page. A particularly impressive feature that Apple has added is the possibility for iOS to recognize if a specific photo was taken during a concert. When he will do, you will see a small ticket icon at the bottom of the screen. Press it and you will get information about when and where the concert took place, the whole that the artist played and the links to their page in Apple Music.
And, fortunately, Apple has facilitated the blocking of spam calls and SMS.
If your iPhone does not recognize an incoming call, it can filter it for you by answering and asking for the name of the appellant and the reason it calls. This allows you to choose when you want to answer or ignore a call.
Hold Assist also uses Apple Intelligence to put your call on hold when he detects that you are waiting to speak to someone. He will then alert you when someone is at stake, waiting for your insurance agent to review your co-payment a little less a burden.
The new Apple game application is also a welcome addition to iOS 26. Serving as a hub for all your games, the application allows you to play with and against friends and quickly find new titles to help you spend time.
The iOS 26 update includes a multitude of other smaller features that will generally make your life easier, including Wallet, Apple Maps and Apple Music changes. As for Apple Intelligence, rather than a massive overhaul, the company has sprinkled smaller improvements on AI on a variety of applications, which gives the impression that Apple intelligence is a more important element of the operating system instead of a singular experience.
And in the end, it will probably be more attractive and less confusing for customers. Apple will launch iOS 26 later this fall. You can consult the public beta version while waiting. But if you don’t want to risk meeting bugs, it’s best to wait for the full public version.
