Hurry up! The Dyson V8 for just AU$339 is a Prime Day deal that will sell out fast

The second Prime Day sale of the year is nearing its final days (it ends at 11:59 p.m. AEDT on Monday, October 13) and I’ve only just seen that the Dyson V8 has a Prime-exclusive discount that takes 58% off the list price.
That’s not the lowest price I’ve seen on this cordless vacuum cleaner – it was AU$319.99 a few months ago – but it’s not too far off. It’s a discount worth considering, even though it’s now been replaced by an upgraded Dyson V8 Cyclone that costs AU$649.
Every time it’s been discounted, I’ve seen it sell like hot cakes. Last year at the same time, it was AU$399 and it became the 6th bestseller in Amazon’s Homes category. During the same sale last year, our own data showed that more than a dozen of our readers bought the V8 when we wrote about this AU$399 deal. It was out of stock shortly after.
So if you need a new vacuum and like a Dyson, this entry-level model isn’t bad at all for AU$339, especially since the ever-popular Shark IZ102 is out of stock on Amazon at the time of writing, and the AU$199 Dreame U20 deal is also no longer available.
As already mentioned, the Dyson V8 is currently the basic cordless vacuum cleaner model of the British brand. While it’s not exactly the original version launched in 2016 – Dyson made some changes – the specs are pretty much the same.
You’ll only get a maximum of 40 minutes of runtime with non-motorized attachments (like the crevice tool and dusting brush), and slightly less with the Motorbar cleaner head. Still, that’s usually enough to vacuum the floors of an average one-bedroom Australian home.
Having the hair screw tool means it will be much easier to vacuum hair and fur without tangling it, and it is convenient to use on beds (even pet beds), sofas and carpets. You can, in theory, use it on the floor, but it has a small footprint, so you’ll end up spending more time cleaning – it’s best to stick to the Digital Motorbar on your floors.
There’s ample suction power here (115 air watts) generated by the 110,000 rpm motor inside the V8. Sure, it’s not as powerful as Dyson’s new cordless vacuums (the Gen5detect, for example, has a power rating of 262 AW, while the V16 Piston takes it up to 315 AW), but for regular vacuuming jobs, it’s enough.
In my 4-star review of the Dyson V8, I highlighted it for its affordable price, versatile design, and impressive suction for an older model. If this Prime Day deal sounds appealing to you, get it quickly or you might miss out.
