Chelsea reaches a large agreement with 61 million pounds “Guardian” sterling

Although they may not have spent the really important sums they have in past windows, Chelsea has always been occupied on the market this summer.
As things arise, the signatures outside competition of the Champions of the Conference League are Joao Pedro, Liam Delap and Jamie Gittens, and they are ready to secure the very well rated Jorrel Hato now.
However, for all the brilliant offers they were able to cross the line, they had to look at Liverpool to get their hands on Hugo Ekitike in free score, which was presented for a move to Stamford Bridge earlier in the window.
Fortunately, if we believe the reports, the West Londoners could get closer to a player who could be their own version of the French striker.
Chelsea targets their own ekitike
Now, when many have already occurred this summer, and it is often difficult to keep track of each agreement and rumor, it is true that Chelsea was linked to Ekitike at several times towards the start of the window.
However, with the blues clearly focusing on other more urgent targets, and are probably not as interested as certain stories suggested that they were, Liverpool stole a walk on them and obtained the French services for an amount of around 69 million pounds sterling.
Interestingly, while the former star of Eintracht Francfurt is not obviously more available, the West Londoners seem to be closer to another offensive jewel which could be their version of him.
It is at least according to a recent report from the German exit Bild, which reaffirms the intense interest of Chelsea for the talented Xavi Simons.
The report goes further, revealing that the Blues have now concluded a large agreement on the terms with the player himself, and even if he has not yet made an official offer to RB Leipzig, we think that the German outfit is a cost of 70 million euros, or about 61 million pounds sterling.
It would be an expensive transfer to overcome the line, but given the capacity and potential of simons, it would be worth it, especially since it could be their own ekitike.
Why Simons could be the clean Ekitike of Chelsea
Now, the first thing to say is that, even if Simons is an incredibly versatile player and someone who has made some appearances at the top, there is not a central advantage like Ekitike, but there are still several reasons why the first could be the Chelsea version of the last.
First, the young Dutchman also headed for a team “ Big Six ” in the Premier League on one side of Bundesliga outside the two traditional great in Leipzig, in the same way as the way French has passed to Merseyside from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Secondly, the two players make their movements at similar ages, the midsen of the midfielder being only 22 years old and the fascinating central center being 23 years old.
The latest somewhat surface similarity is the fact that the two spent time playing for Paris Saint-Germain.
Simons joined the youth system of the French party in 2019, then left and rejoiced the following years until its move to Leipzig was made permanent in January, while the new Liverpool star joined the Parisians in July 2022, then left for Germany for a permanent agreement two years later.
Finally, although the former PSV Eindhoven Dynamo is unlikely to correspond to the 22 goals in 48 games that Ekitike scored last season at Stamford Bridge because of the position in which he tends to play, he always has the capacity to be an attacking force and could help to return the matches on their heads for Maresca and Co.
For example, in just 33 appearances last season, totaling 2763 minutes, the “game changer” born in Amsterdam, as nicknamed by Talent Scout Jacek Kulig, scored 11 goals and provided eight assists.

In other words, the sensational talent, of which an analyst has nicknamed “one of the best 10 in the world”, managed to make an average of an achievement of the objectives every 1.73 games, or every 144 minutes.
In the end, even if it would not be cheap, Chelsea should do what they can to bring Simons to west of London this summer, because it could add real quality to their attack and be an answer to Ekitike.
