49ers must finally sell Leeds “responsibility”

Leeds United has failed to deliver what Daniel Farke has wanted since the end of the summer transfer window because he wanted other attack reinforcements added to his team.
The German head coach wanted the 49ers to bring more quality to strengthen his options at the upper end of the field, to add to Noah Okafor, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha.
Speaking before the deadline, the director said: “In the defense and the midfielder, the goalkeeper position and the rear position, we did very good deals. But we talked quite open and honestly, we had to add more quality in advance. We have to stay awake until the last hour of this window.”
Leeds was interested in an agreement to sign Facundo Buonanotte on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion, before Chelsea rushed to sign it on loan to push the whites away.
The Argentinian attacking midfielder would earn £ 25,000 per week and could have been a clever and profitable signature for championship championships on loan.
Why would Booanotte would have been a value signature for Leeds
When you consider some of the salaries that are paid by Leeds in their first current team team, Buoanotte could have been an addition of value for the group on a long term loan.
According to Capology, for example, Jack Harrison is the team’s greatest benefit on a weekly salary of £ 90,000, despite the fact that he scored a premier league goal on Everton last and is not currently a departure XI player for Farke.
Although it should be noted that Noah Okafor (72.5 k £ per week) is the only new signature whose salary is reported on Capology, Harrison does not seem to provide value for the production he offers on the ground.
Especially when you consider that Buonanotte scored five goals on loan to Leicester, by Sofascore, at the top of last season and earns only £ 25,000 per week, which suggests that it would offer more value to money than the English DUD.

As you can see in the table above, Brenden Aaronson, Karl Darlow and Illan Meslier are also in the best revenues that were at the club at the start of the window, but they did not start any game this season in the Premier League.
Aaronson, however, has at least appeared as a substitute in the three games of the team’s league so far, which shows that it is still part of Farke’s front line plans.
The same goes for Meslier, however, because the French goalkeeper did not have any of the match teams in a competition for the first team of this season.
He currently earns £ 5,000 more per week than Buonanotte in Brighton / Chelsea, which underlines how little the whites come back for the wages they pay to him.
The 49ers should push to take advantage of Meslier before the transfer windows in other countries around the world are closed, so that they can save about 1.5 million pounds sterling on the shooting.
Why should Leeds sell Illan Meslier
Leeds failed to sign Buonanotte at £ 25,000 per week, when he scored five goals in the Premier League last season, puts in perspective the little that the club returns to wages that they spend for part of their current team.
As mentioned, Meslier did not even make the bench for a match this season, Lucas Perri and Darlow before him in the hierarchical order in the state, but he wins even more than the promising Argentinian.
This is why the 49ers should push to sell it to potentially interested clubs, whether in Turkey or elsewhere, in the coming weeks, if not in the January transfer window.
Leeds United Director General Robbie Evans told athletics that there was a certain interest in Meslier before the English window closed, but that it was not as strong as it expected “a player of his caliber”.
Although the club has the right to enhance French as they wish, there must be a certain degree of realism because the failure of the left foot arouses little to attract a lot of high level interest, in terms of clubs or possible transfer costs, after being abandoned last season and demoted to the third choice at the start of the current campaign.
The 25 -year -old DUD made three errors that directly led to goals and conceded 2.73 goals more than expected in the championship before being abandoned for Darlow, by Sofascore, which explains how disappointing his performances were.
Meslier’s difficulties in the 2024/25 campaign were far from unpredictable, however, because it has rarely been an impressive or constant shooting in his career in Elland Road.

As you can see in the table above, the French flop conceded 32 goals more than the post-shot that XG did not expect what was needed during its three seasons in the Premier League.
This is why there must be realism around a potential sale of Meslier because other teams will examine these performances, and the fact that it fell to a third choice this season, and wonders if it is worth spending millions to sign it for their club.
The goalkeeper of the left foot, who was Once nicknamed a “massive responsibility” By journalist David Kent, has been too poor for too long between the sticks for Leeds, hence the reason why he found himself in this clumsy position at the start of the season.
Consequently, the 49ers must finally try to conclude an agreement with one of the aforementioned concerned teams that Robbie Evans mentioned, if their respective transfer windows are always open, in order to separate from Meslier.
It may be necessary to wait until January where more teams are available to break it, but the lack of quality performance, or all the performance at the moment, on the field, shows that the club does not get value for money from its salary.
