Hollywood takes risks on male action stars, not women

Charlize Theron recently spoke to the New York Times and called a Double Hollywood standard for action films. The winner of the Oscars, who has faced action films since “æon Flux” in 2005, said that the studios often give female actors a single blow to have a blow of action film. Regarding men, however, they can have a box-office flop but always land several follow-up projects.

“Yeah, it’s more difficult. It is known,” said Theron when he was asked about the gender disparity in the kind of action. “Action films with female tracks are not away from Green as much as those with male tracks. I think that the thing that always frustrates me, is the fact that guys will get free driving.”

“When women do this and the film may not hit completely, they don’t necessarily have a chance,” she continued. “With that, we were very aware that the eyes were on us. It is not a risk that the studios want to take, but they will take it several times on the same guy who could have a series of action films that did not work so well.”

Theron is currently headlining of Netflix’s action suite “The Old Guard 2.” This is his latest action role after the tastes of “blonde atomic” and “Mad Max: Fury Road”, among others. She told Times that her commitment to her roles of action had left her worn body.

“I meet people and they are like:” Oh, what happened to your arm? ” And I say to myself: “Oh, I have just undergone surgery”. And they say to themselves: “The last time I saw you, you were operated on!” “Said Theron.” I had an unhappy injury on the first attempted action I have ever made, for a bad film entitled “Aeon Flux”. The new day, I made a backrest, and I did not have enough height, and I landed on my neck on a concrete bridge.

Theron hangs a flying helicopter in “The Old Guard 2”, which she said Variety is a new highlight of his film career.

“We did it towards the end, and I said to myself:” Oh, my God, if I withdraw him, I will agree to never make a hit “,” said Theron. “It did not last long, but it was complex. It was psychological. The first two weeks were seated with the pilot and confidence. It was slow movements. But in the end, I clung to a helicopter, so who cares?”

“The Old Guard 2” is now in trouble on Netflix.
