Halsey makes his debut on the new song “Porter the weight” on “for my last round

The unpublished song is the second song Halsey has shared since the release of their latest album, The big imitator, in October
There are not two nights of Halsey Wondrous for my last Trick tour was the same. Since the start of the race live in May, the musician has changed the setlist with surprised songs in each city. Some cities have obtained two songs, while others received three and sometimes four. Some welcomed special guests, such as Amy Lee and Lauren Jauregui. But for their last lap, Halsey created the song currently unpublished “Carry the Weight” in Salt Lake City on Tuesday, June 24.
The pop-rock record is driven by propulsive guitars while Halsey loses the weight of the past. “I never know when leaving it / I’m going to tear everything up on the ground and accept my defeat / You will not decide when it’s over / No, you can’t take it to me,” they sing. “I could run away if I want / I will not stay but I want you to know / I am well since I lost you / You just made a mistake and I want you to go / give me a break, how much can I take? / This heavy feeling made me feel that we prevented ourselves / I don’t want to wear the weight.”
Fans highlighted the lyrical parallels to Maniac The opening piece “Ashley”, on which Halsey sings: “apart from my beating heart / It is a muscle, but it is still not strong enough to carry the weight of the choices I made.”
“Carry the Weight” is the second new song that Halsey has been presented since his publication of his latest album, The big imitatorin October. The first, the record for punk rock “SAFEWORD”, arrived in February with a resolutely NSFW video. The two songs look at the themes of perceptual distortion that Halsey explored through the album.
“Go tell your friends that I am different / Dress the story with lies and I bet they will agree, because you are still the victim / No, I don’t care about the way you describe me”, they sing on “wear the weight”. “It’s always your world in which we live / all your illusions and fantastic stating the scene / and when you are forgiven, no, you won’t even recognize me.”
The last tour will continue in Ridgefield, Washington, on June 26, after which Halsey will have three shows to play – but many more stuff.
