Pixel 6a unit reports taking fire; Google to contact touched customers next month.
The Google Pixel 4a was recently in the news, but not for good reasons – an update apparently had completely nervous the life of the telephone battery, which makes it essentially unusable. Now this could also be what is happening with the 6a pixel.
Google has confirmed that a subset of its Pixel 6A smartphones will require a compulsory software update to resolve a potential battery overheating risk. The update will introduce the battery management features which intentionally reduce the maximum battery capacity and slow down the load speeds after the device has undergone 400 load cycles. In theory, this means that the lifespan of the Pixel 6a battery will be considerably lowered, and it will take care more slowly, a scenario almost identical to what happened sadly with the Pixel 4A. In short, if things are managed in the same way, it will be very controversial.

Do you have any problems with your Google Pixel 7A battery? It is not a secret for anyone that certain pixel phones have dealt with a series of problems, one of which is the swelling of the battery. This week, Google announced a unique battery replacement program or cash compensation for defective devices.
At least two distinct incidents from Pixel 6A units were reportedly burnt down during the last month. In May, and once again last week, people on social networks and technological forums shared disturbing images of their gravely melted and damaged Pixel 6A phones. In response to these reports, and in light of the fact that this seems to be a widespread problem, the Android 16 QPR1 Beta 2 has code channels suggesting that a battery nerve update similar to that which has arrived on the Pixel 4A will arrive at Pixel 6A. In a declaration at Android authorityGoogle confirmed the news, continuing to add that:
A subset of Pixel 6A phones will require a compulsory software update to reduce the risk of potential drums of the battery. The update will allow battery management features which will reduce capacity and load performance after the battery reaches 400 charging cycles. We will contact customers hit next month, with all the information they need to resolve the problem.
As much as this is technically a good movement in the paper (a telephone with a non -ideal battery life is certainly preferred to a telephone that explodes), the update of the Pixel 4A was sadly famous for tons of other reasons, including the increase in the drain of the battery which stuck even after having obtained a replacement of the battery. If this will be the case with Pixel 6A users, they could just as well try to get a new phone while they are there. Once we have more details on what Pixel 6A users could expect from all this, we will let you know, but it certainly does not seem too beautiful at the moment.
