Chelsea want to recruit Guela Doué from RC Strasbourg.
According to Football Insider, Aston Villa are also interested in the 23-year-old full-back. It will be interesting to see if Chelsea can complete the deal. They belong to the same parent company as Strasbourg, which could certainly give them an advantage in the transfer race.

Pete O’Rourke said: “I’m sure it’s not just Aston Villa he’s attracted attention.
“Doue had a great time in Strasbourg. Still impressed last weekend [17 October] against European champions PSG in that match as well and established himself as one of the most promising young full-backs in Ligue 1 today.
“Chelsea are also interested in him. You have Brighton, they are looking at him too.
“So look, there are going to be a multitude of clubs keeping an eye on Doué’s progress at Strasbourg.”
The French team might prefer to sell the player to Chelsea rather than Aston Villa. The Blues also have the resources to complete the deal.
Doue could prosper in England
The 23-year-old has done quite well in France and he has the technical qualities to succeed in the Premier League. He could be a great addition to Chelsea. They need to add more quality and depth across the defensive unit, and Doue would be a superb long-term acquisition.
Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in the world and the opportunity to join them will be very attractive to the player. This would be a step forward for him and he could compete against world-class players in England. This could help him improve further and realize his potential.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa will need a quality long-term replacement for Matty Cash. It remains to be seen whether they can win the race for the 23-year-old. He would be a great addition if they can get the deal done. However, convincing Strasbourg and the player could prove tricky.
