Billy Crudup on the Mary-Louise Parker relationship

THE Angels in America actress had previously discussed their relationship and breakup in her 2015 memoir, Dear Mr. Youwhich was written as a series of letters to the men in her life. A letter was written to a taxi driver who asked him to get out of his taxi after Marie-Louise got angry with him following his breakup.
“I’m alone,” she wrote. “Look, you see? I’m pregnant and alone. It even hurts to breathe. I’m trying to get through it but I’m alone every night and every morning and no one, nothing helps.”
As for Billy, he briefly discussed the breakup in 2004, although he noted that he was hesitant to do so at first.
“It is above all personal, painful and it involves an infant,” he said. The New York Times in an email published as part of a profile about him in 2004, “and does not deserve to be exploited to satisfy the appetites of circulation counters and bored readers.”
“I have never given in to our society’s misconception that my personal life is relevant to my work,” Billy continued, “so any reporting on this subject is necessarily hearsay, speculation or fantasy. Every report published is based solely on the business of suffering.”
