Ace Bailey leaves game against Pistons with hip injury

Utah will be without the fifth overall pick, who did not return to action Friday.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah’s Ace Bailey left Friday night’s game against the Detroit Pistons in the first half because of a strained left hip and did not return for the second half.

The Jazz rookie was scoreless in 11 minutes, but the No. 5 pick in this year’s draft averaged 10.7 points per game. The 6-9 guard had reached double figures in four straight games and was often on the court during critical periods for the Jazz.

Brice Sensabaugh started the second half in place of Bailey.

NBA.com will have more on this developing story soon.
