Why it matters

The decision to reject Comey – the daughter of the director of the FBI, James Comey’s daughter, was delivered while the Doj faced a meticulous examination of his processing of evidence and files in the case against Epstein, the disgrace financier who, in 2019, died by suicide in prison before his trial for sex traffic. Maxwell was found guilty of the same accusations and served a 20 -year prison sentence.

Comey was informed of his dismissal in a letter which noted article II of the American Constitution in the decision, according to The New York Timesciting three people familiar with the issue.

THE Times First pointed out the dismissal, which was then recovered by ABC News and the Associated Press.

Comey played an essential role in pursuing high -level sex trafficking involving Epstein and Maxwell, procedures that have thrown a shadow on international legal and political arenas.

His dismissal occurs during an increased period of public suspicion and political controversy, especially among the supporters aligned by President Donald Trump who expressed concerns about government’s transparency in Epstein’s investigation, with an US prosecutor Pam Bondi.

What to know

While speaking on CNN, Jones, former advisor George W. Bush Scott Jennings and the CNN political commentator, Ana Navarro, discussed Comey’s dismissal and compared it to the signal cat scandal which tormented the Trump administration and included the defense secretary Pete Hegseth and Mike Waltz, the national security advisor of the time.

Waltz was withdrawn from the post and appointed by Trump to be his American ambassador to the United Nations.

“It is extremely disruptive, it would be true, whatever the president, to get rid of a secretary of the cabinet of all kinds, in particular the Attorney General. It is not worth it, and it is probably not justified here,” said Jennings while highlighting the first six months of Trump.

“When signalgate would not leave, he [Trump] got rid of Waltz, “said Navarro.

Jones replied later: “The head who just rides is the head of Comey. I mean, Comey’s daughter, the head has just rolled.”

“It’s a distraction,” replied Navarro.

“Exactly, it’s a distraction, but I say it’s more likely,” said Jones.

Former federal prosecutor Jeffrey Tobin described Comey’s dismissal “a shame at the Ministry of Justice” when he speaks on CNN on Wednesday.
