Titans DT Jeffery Simmons’ house broken into during away game

Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons was the latest athlete to have his home burglarized while he was with his team for a game.
The Titans said in a statement Monday that the team was working with the Metro Nashville Police Department on an effort to recover items that were taken from the property by at least six suspects.
Simmons’ home was burglarized Sunday after 7 p.m. local time as the Titans finished a away game against the San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara, California. A window was broken to gain access to the house while no residents were present.
Simmons called police when he arrived home early Monday morning.
“Lol bro, this shit was planned…big house and y’all hit a room? Did you know exactly where my master bedroom was?? Yeah, okay smh,” Simmons posted on Instagram Monday along with a photo of a broken sliding glass door.
“What if one of my family members was in my house?? All the materialistic bullshit we can get, but it’s crazy!” he added.
Simmons, 28, has 55 tackles, 14 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles in 12 games (all starts) this season. In 96 games (94 starts) over seven seasons with the Titans, the former 19th overall draft pick in 2019 has 364 tackles, 63 tackles for loss, six fumble recoveries and seven forced fumbles.
Simmons was also used on offense Sunday, catching a 1-yard touchdown pass. He has two career receptions, both for touchdowns, having also scored on a 2-yard catch in 2023.
Athletes whose homes have been burglarized in recent years include Luka Doncic when he was a member of the Dallas Mavericks, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs, Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals, Bobby Portis of the Milwaukee Bucks and Shedeur Sanders of the Cleveland Browns earlier this year.
