The best sci-fi horror series of all time finds new life on a surprising streaming platform

The MGM+ sci-fi horror series From is widely considered one of the best horror shows of all time, maybe even the best. The series has largely gone unnoticed on its parent streaming platform, but it has found a cult following. Praised for its uniquely intriguing premise, excellent performances, and stunning cinematography, the show has few flaws. This is reflected in its 96% critical score on Rotten Tomatoes, with the final season rated fresh at 100%. New seasons air on MGM+ and previous seasons air on other platforms, including Prime Video, where the series recently saw a resurgence nearly a year after the Season 3 finale.
From stars Harold Perrineau in the role of Boyd, the sheriff of an unusual town. You see, once you enter the city, you don’t leave. You join dozens of other people who, for whatever reason, find themselves stuck in this city where any attempt to leave takes you straight back. It would be easier to start a life if everything worked normally in the city. Nightfall brings horror and suffering as monsters from the woods and underground spaces begin to terrorize the inhabitants, tearing the unlucky ones apart. This city would have had more inhabitants if many had not been deceived by these intelligent monsters, meeting horrible deaths. Surviving is not enough; the residents must find a way out.
When is “From” returning for season 4?
It’s been almost a year since the end of the third season. The series was renewed for season 4, which began production this year with a release date planned for 2026. The season is expected to continue the story where the season 3 finale left off, providing a huge clue as to how the residents can escape the horrors of the city. “With the climax of Season 3, we have, in many ways, reached the end of the beginning. In Season Four, a new journey begins. The question is whether it will take our characters home, or deeper into this unrelenting nightmare,” said the series creator. John Griffin said when the renewal was announced, hinting that the show would end soon.
Besides Perrineau, the series also stars Catalina Sandino Moreno (Tabitha), Eion Bailey (Jim), HEur of Cherami (Julie), Simon Webster (Ethan), Ricky He (Kenny), Chloé Van Landschoot (Kristi), David Alpay (Jade), Corteon Moore (Ellis), Pegah Ghafoori (Fatima), Scott McCord (Winner), AJ Simmons (Randall), Elizabeth Saunders (Donna)among others. Jeff Pinkner serves as showrunner, with Jack Bender being the director.
From Season 4 doesn’t have a release date yet, but stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
