Kendall Jenner Gets Cozy With Colorful Florals and Graphics During Her Mountain Getaway

In a way, this singular room — in Jenner’s first build, designed with Bay Area architect Kirby Lee — represents everything Jenner wanted from her “getaway house.” Jenner craved a country getaway to spend warm summer weekends with friends who felt loved and lived, as if they had been there for a while.

“I had a vision. It was a house full of people crowded together on a couch for game night,” she says. “On one of my first trips there, this happened. I had friends staying nearby who came spontaneously. It made me almost emotional. I had this dream, and it happened in a house I built. It was very fulfilling.”

Jenner fell in love with the “energy” of the neighborhood during a visit and purchased the property on a whim about five years ago. A self-described “horse girl,” she spent her childhood summers in Wyoming and enjoyed active days outdoors. At the time, there was a neglected house on site that she planned to restore. After a walkthrough with a builder, it was deemed unsalvageable and the search for a design team began. “When I design a home, I like to make things collaborative and my choice of designer is extremely intentional,” she says. “I know I’m going to be very involved and extremely picky.”
