Cipher’s worse-than-expected plan revealed

Generation V Season 2 maintained an air of mystery surrounding Cipher’s overall plan throughout its early episodes, but it ultimately revealed what he wanted. As Generation V Season 2 Episode 6 reveals that Cipher’s motivations are much darker than initially expected.
Dean Shetty was introduced as Generation V the main villain of season 1, but by the end of the episode she was dead. The boys The spinoff series then introduced Hamish Linklater’s Cipher, who not only replaced Shetty, but seemed much more calculated and enigmatic with what he wanted to achieve at Godolkin.
The ambiguity surrounding his motivations prompted many viewers to come up with many intriguing theories afterward. Generation V the first episodes of season 2. After episode 6 of the series, it is obvious that even if some theories of Cipher of Generation V season 2 makes sense, others completely miss the mark.
Cipher’s plan for Godolkin University explained
Towards the end of Generation V In Season 2 Episode 6, Cipher finally reveals that he plans to eliminate 75% of God U’s weakest supes. Dean Shetty was a horrible villain in Generation V season 1 because she conducted ruthless experiments on supes in The Woods and exposed them to a deadly virus.
His long-term goal was to eventually eliminate all supers on the planet using the virus. When Cipher joined God U to replace him, it seemed like he was his complete opposite and genuinely cared about the students at Central University. However, his plan reveals that he is no different.
While he doesn’t want to kill all the supes in the world, he hopes to see a world where only some of the most powerful supes will exist. According to this plan, the remaining, relatively weaker sups will be considered useless and eradicated to “purify” the next generation.
Cipher’s goal in Generation V Season 2 is much worse than expected
Considering how Homelander has mercilessly killed many supes, he can come across as a hypocrite when he preaches about protecting his kind. However, as Generation V The end of season 1 suggests, his supremacist beliefs still lead him to believe that supremacists, whatever their scale of power, are superior to humans.
For this reason, Homelander seems to imagine a world where all Sups unite and live among humans as superior beings. Cipher, on the other hand, cares neither for humans nor for relatively weaker supes. As his plan suggests, he seems to think that sups with useless mutations or low Compound V potential are no less insignificant than humans.
Therefore, in more ways than one, Cipher is even worse than Homelander. Homelander may not care about the supes’ well-being either. However, at least it does not foresee mass genocide. The fact that Cipher’s plan goes completely against what Homelander would want explains why he doesn’t want Homelander or Vought to know what he’s trying to do to God U.
How Cipher’s interest in Marie ties into his goal of eliminating the Supes
When Cipher talks to Polarity in Generation V Ending moments of episode 6 of season 2, he calls Marie “the answer.” He even tells Polarity that Marie can help him treat his seizures, which would allow him to overcome his flaws as a sup. Given that he wants to kill 75% of the sups, the fact that he wants to cure the sups and make them stronger thanks to Marie seems a bit hypocritical.
All the little clues Generation V has fallen so far, Cipher fears that if the human population united, they would easily outnumber the supes and overpower them. Because of this, he only wishes to create a few god-level alternates who would rule the world and force humans into submission rather than demanding equality.
With Marie’s blood control abilities, he firmly believes he can heal any weaknesses that prevent some of the most powerful supes from reaching their full potential. His cold, utilitarian logic also explains why Emma and Polarity found Nazi memorabilia in his office.
There’s 1 more question the Boys spinoff needs to answer about its new villain
Generation V Season 2 still hasn’t revealed who the burned man in Cipher’s room is, but characters on the show are already starting to speculate that it’s Thomas Godolkin. The most common theory is that the man, Thomas Godolkin, is actually the one controlling Cipher through his mind control abilities.
Generation V season 2 is expected to have a total of 8 episodes. While the 7th will be broadcast on October 15, 2025, the finale will land on Prime Video on October 22, 2025.
Cipher, as we see him physically, is nothing more than a meat puppet to Godolkin, who uses his body because his own body is burned and unable to act. Cipher was likely a human before Godolking took control of his body, which would explain why Marie finds no Compound V in his blood.
Since Cipher, or rather Thomas Godolkin, believes that Mary can heal the supes, he also hopes that she can cure him by healing his damaged body and restoring his mobility. But for now, these are all mere theories, until Generation V season 2 confirms what Cipher really wants.
