Zotac’s Zone Gaming Handheld went from Windows to Linux

Portable play PCs are great. Portable play PCs performing the windows are… measuring less great. This is probably why the launch of Steamos on several devices beyond the Steam bridge is so exciting. But Zotac opts for something a little different with the updated version of the area of the area: execute a personalized Linux. Adam Patrick Murray got hold of a 2025 computex prototype.
The new Zotac zone is very similar, a lot like the original Zotac area. The external body seems almost identical, in particular, including the double touchpads on each side like the steam bridge. Under the beige body is a new AMD Ryzen AI 9 370 HX processor, which is massively powerful for a new pocket computer, as well as more RAM and storage.
But the big news is that it executes Linux out of the box. Instead of going with the official Valve steamos to Lenovo, Zotac worked with the developers of Manjaro Linux to build something new. Do not worry, it always works as a steam as a game manager and it also has a portable fashion link / big friendly image on the desktop.
Will this help the new area to make a larger splash than the original? It would almost be necessary to do it, because the area of last year was launched with very little fanfare and is always almost impossible to find. We do not know when the new will land (to date?) Or how much it will cost, although the original seems to go a lot more than $ 1,000 in a few smaller stores. This 370 HX chip would not do this one cheap.
