Zac Taylor uncommittal on Bengals QB return

Joe Burrow was a full participant in the Cincinnati Bengals’ practice on Wednesday, but it remains unclear whether he will play against New England.

Cincinnati Bengals coach Zac Taylor refused to commit to Joe Burrow returning from injury this week, despite the star quarterback practicing fully on Wednesday.

Burrow hasn’t played since Week 2, when he suffered a turf toe injury that required surgery.

The Bengals slumped to a 3-7 record in his absence despite trading for veteran Joe Flacco, their struggles on the defensive side of the ball severely hampering Cincinnati’s playoff hopes.

With seven games remaining in their 2025 NFL season, the Bengals are three games behind the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC West and three games out of the final Wild Card spot in the conference.

The Bengals are hoping that Burrow’s potential return will be enough to keep their season alive, even with their considerable issues on defense.

Still, it’s no guarantee he’ll return this week to face the 9-2 New England Patriots.

Taylor was asked about Burrow’s chances of playing during an appearance on 700WLW.

“Well, I’m not there yet,” Taylor replied. “We will use the time we have and make the best decision.”

Pressed for an answer on his status on Sunday, Taylor said: “I wish I could [tell you]. I wish I had a decision today. I will take all the information into account.
