“Your guilt must fall below the 92% threshold, otherwise you will be executed in precisely 90 minutes.” Lionsgate has released the official trailer for a sci-fi film titled Mercyone of many upcoming artificial intelligence thrillers being made by Hollywood. This one is about an “AI Judge”, very similar in many ways to Minority Report but with a different vision of our technological future. Mercy (not to be confused with Just mercy from a few years ago) is directed by sci-fi/Screenlife filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov, his last feature film made for Hollywood since it was made Profile in 2018. 90 minutes to prove your innocence or risk being executed. Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson star in this uplifting technology story. In the near future, a detective is on trial, accused of murdering his wife. He now has 90 minutes to prove his innocence to the advanced AI judge he once defended, before the judge determines his fate.
