“You have lost. You have lost a lot of time.

In an interview of almost 40 minutes on the showie Carr program, Read and his defense lawyer, Alan Jackson, discussing future possibilities.

Jackson said “Nothing is outside the table” with regard to the possibility of depositing civil proceedings. Read’s legal team met to discuss the opportunity to deposit before a state or federal court and how to overcome “qualified immunity”, which protects the DA office and other state agencies to continue.

“The question becomes whether or not there is a legal standard that we can overcome to actually pursue a civil affair against them,” said Jackson. “We are considering all the options.”

In June, a jury acquitted a reading of the accusations of second degree murder, of manslaughter guilty by operating under the influence and leaving the place of an accident leading to death. She was found guilty of offense yes and received a year of probation.

The prosecutors argued that reading was drunk and enraged when she intentionally supported her SUV in her boyfriend, Boston police officer John O’Keefe on January 29, 2022.

During the radio interview, Read said that during her four -year laws, she lost a job she darled, had to sell her house to pay the second trial and now lives with her parents. She still hasn’t recovered her SUV from the DA office.

Read said that even if she could return to her old work, it is not her probable path.

“I have other things that I have to do in terms of lighting what I have seen in the past four years,” she said.

“I would like a book there,” said Read. “There is just much more to say. Many of what it took to fight what was behind closed doors.”

As for television, Read said that she was just as surprised as anyone when the news announced Wednesday that actor and director Elizabeth Banks will portray the next series of Amazon videos Prime on the criminal legal saga that ended with an acquittal.

“I have nothing to do with that,” said Read. “It is by no means authorized by me.”

Read’s story is worthy to tell, said Jackson, but it must be done with precision and significantly.

“This is the story of Karen Read to tell,” said Jackson. “This is not Hollywood’s story to catch up, and to fill whites that they want to fill and take a poetic license.”

“It is a bit of a shame that it has never even been consulted, never even contacted,” added Jackson.

Regarding legal compensation, how much could read when she continues, Carr wanted to know.

“His reputation was trained in the mud because of these allegations,” said Jackson. “How much is it worth?”
