Yankees Bench Dj Lemahieu, who took him “ not great ”, Bouge jazz chisholm jr.

NEW YORK – Following a brutal skid that saw New York Yankees drop 16 of their last 23 games, manager Aaron Boone considerably shakes up training.
Boone announced on Tuesday that the veteran field player DJ Lemahieu was no longer considered an everyday player. He will get out of the bench. This is a massive change to make for the Yankees, because Lemahieu is still due to the rest of his salary of $ 15 million this year and $ 15 million next season.
Since he left the list of wounded (veal strain) in mid -May, Lemahieu exclusively played the second base – a point of consternation among the fans base. The 36 -year -old man had a limited scope in the middle of the inner field of the Yankees, and their botched defense led to revolutionary moments during the last month. Boone said Lemahieu was not happy to have said he was now a bench player.
“Not tremendous necessarily,” said Boone about Lemahieu’s reaction. “This is sort of the situation in which we are at the moment.”
Lemahieu did not play on Tuesday, or spoke with journalists after the victory of the Yankees 10-3 against the Seattle Navy.
With Lemahieu moved to the bench, the Yankees slipped Jazz Chisholm Jr. at the second base. Chisholm recently said Athletics That he considered himself a second base player and hoped that he would end up going back to his more natural position. He is equal to the second row among all the third basic players this season with six launching errors. Chisholm told Toronto last week that he was still not sure of all the subtleties of the position he played last season after the Miami Marlins exchanged him in New York.
Replacing Chisholm at the second basis should improve the defense of Yankees. Chisholm was invited Tuesday to the clubhouse to describe themselves as a second basic player and what fans can expect from him in the middle of the diamond.
“Elite defender. Elite Slugging. Fast. Great defense. I don’t know what else to tell you,” said Chisholm. “It looks like a full player for me.”
Boone said he was now considering Chisholm as the second everyday basic player, with Oswald Peraza considered the main option to the third goal. He said Lemahieu should not play the third goal.
“I think physically, it’s a challenge for him right now,” said Boone. “So, at the moment, not the intention to do that, but we will see.”
Before the season, the Yankees considered Lemahieu as an option on the third basis, with Oswaldo Cabrera and Peraza. These plans moved once Lemahieu was injured in the left calf in training in the spring and Cabrera suffered an injury at the end of the season in May. Lemahieu has treated several wounds in the feet and lower body in recent seasons that have limited his athletics.
Lemahieu is not a prototypical bench player, which raises questions about his future with the Yankees. If he can only play the second base (where he also negatively releases the average) and has a limited power in his bat, it is possible that the Yankees finally decide to designate it for assignment.
Peraza is not considered a long -term solution to the third base. Boone said “it was an offensive struggle” for Peraza, but the manager praised him for his defense. The Peraza Place on the list is also important because it is the backup option at the COURT stop. If the Yankees were trying to upgrade the list before the deadline for exchanges, they should get someone who plays the stop stop if he leaves the old best hope. Or if they needed a list space and could not get another stop stop, they could cut Lemahieu.
It would not be a surprise to see the club try to upgrade to the third goal in the coming weeks. Certain commercial options that Yankees could consider include Eugenio Suárez, Ryan McMahon, Ke’bryan Hayes and Willi Castro. The Yankees recently signed Jeimer Candelario and Nicky Lopez with minor league contracts. Candelario was DFA’D by the Cincinnati Reds after having published a .410 OPS in 22 games this season. Lopez was a finalist of the Gold Glove American League Prize at the second goal last season with the Chicago White Sox.
Injury information
The already thin enclai of the Yankees decreased on Tuesday while Mark Leiter Jr. was moved to the list of 15 days injured with a left fibular constraint fracture. Leiter was injured in the leg while covering the first goal on a ground ball struck by the Elly de la Cruz des Reds last month.
In place of Leiter, the Yankees recalled the right -hander Clayton Beeter. Leiter becomes the second high lever effect that Yankees have lost in recent weeks, Fernando Cruz falling with a tense oblique in late June.
“I hope it seems (just) worse,” said Boone about Leiter’s injury. “I Know He’s not Going to Throw for A Couple of Days, But Hopefully after that, he can get up and throwing. I think (His leg is) Definitely Compromised. We Tried to Give Him Some Days, But I think it really Started to Creep Up Again On Him from While Warming Up on Saturday and then Into the Game Sunday (Against the New York Mets).
The Yankees must add at least two readers before passing the deadline for trade. This injury only adds to the emergency with which the front office of the Yankees must act.
