Yahya Abdul-Mateen II Stars in Trailer #1 for Marvel’s ‘Wonder Man’ Series

“I want to explore the place between fiction and non-fiction.” What? Marvel Studios has revealed its first full official trailer for the series titled Wonderful manan MCU spinoff series set to debut on streaming in January 2026. This comes right after NYCC’s brief teaser – showing us more footage from this strange new (??) superhero series. Hollywood actor Simon Williams is thrust into the world of superheroes as he gains powers of his own and becomes the new superhero Wonder Man. It’s a meta-riff on superhero movies, with a director trying to reinvent and remake them. Wonderful manand it will eventually give Yahya the lead, but this trailer doesn’t go that far yet. Yama is my Malay II plays Simon Williams / Wonder Man: a super-powered actor and stuntman who auditions for the lead role in a superhero series. Co-created by Destin Daniel Cretton, the new Wonderful man the series also stars Ben Kingsley returning as actor Trevor Slattery from Iron Man 3with Demetrius Grosse, Lauren Glazier, Byron Bowersand more. And featuring Zlatko Buric (who was also in the James Gunn film Superman) in the role of filmmaker Von Kovak. This is such a unique concept for Marvel. Will it work? Is anyone really interested? I mean, I’m a big Yahya fan, but I don’t know…

Wonder Man is a live-action Disney+ meta-series with a “story about acting and an actor’s journey in Hollywood.” Yahya Abdul-Mateen II stars as Simon Williams, a working actor who auditions for the lead role in Wonder Man, an upcoming reboot of a classic Wonder Man project from his youth. The story is a two-person affair between Ben Kingsley’s Simon and Trevor Slattery, who bond over their shared love of theater. Wonderful man is a series created by the filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton (director of Short term 12, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings“American Born Chinese” series, upcoming Spider-Man: A Whole New Day) And André Guest (writer/producer on “Marry Me”, “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”, “The Twilight Zone”, “Hawkeye”). Showrun and written by Andrew Guest. And with episodes directed by Destin Daniel Cretton & Stella Meghie (director of Jean des Jones, Everything Everything, The Weekend, Photographyand the series “Insecure”, “Minx”). It is produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Destin Daniel Cretton, Andrew Guest and Jonathan Schwartz.
