Xander Schauffele does not keep trophies; “No idea” where the gold medal is

Portrush, Northern Ireland – Do not feel bad so that Xander Schauffele had to return the jug of Blaret when he arrived in Royal Portrush to defend his title in the open championship. It is not as if he had somewhere to keep him.
Schauffele has won eight times in his PGA Tour career, notably the open, the PGA championship and the Tour championship. There is also the Tokyo Olympic gold medal in 2021.
Where to keep it all? Not at home. Schauffele said his parents kept all his trophies, “probably in a safe.” They have a house in San Diego, and his father builds a place on Kauai, living in what Stefan Schauffele calls “the container”.
The gold medal?
“I actually have no idea where it is, to be completely honest,” said Schauffele.
It is not so surprising since Schauffele and his wife, Maya Lowe, simply prefer to live. He celebrates a little more than Scottie Scheffler, but, just like with player n ° 1 in the world, it is at the next tournament to start again.
“What am I going to do with it? I don’t really invite people at home. Will I just go watch it myself?” Schauffele said. “I don’t want to enter a trophy room like:” Listen as I am great. “I was just raised to think that way, and it’s a bit stuck.”
This raises the question: what is happening on the shelves of their Florida house if not trophies?
“My wife hung up a few photos of me in my gymnasium of me winning the Olympic medal, and she has so high that I can’t reach her,” said Schauffele. “I have to get a ladder now, and it bothers me. If something, puts me in a master’s jacket, as it would piss me off, you know what I mean? Something like that is more motivating.”
If it were Schauffele, he would hang photos of his dogs. Or nothing. Maybe a clock.
“I’m still late, so maybe a clock would be good for me,” said Schauffele.
He said that Captain of the Ryder Cup, Keegan Bradley, told him to make sure to take advantage of big victories, and Schauffele thinks he would do it at some point.
“But right now, I really want to keep my head down and continue to load,” he said.
