Cubs to increase production of racing against the improvement of pirates

There was a common theme in recent losses of Chicago Cubs: an inability to produce with runners on the basis. This is something that Cubs will seek to rectify Saturday when they welcome Pittsburgh Pirates in the third match of a four game set.
The Cubs failed nine runners and went 0 for 10 with runners in a score position in a 2-1, 10 round defeat on Friday. During a 7-2 defeat against the phillies of Philadelphia on Wednesday, they left seven on the basis and were 1 for 7 with a chance to score. The defeat before that (4-3 in 11 rounds against Philadelphia on Monday) saw Chicago leave eight on the basis while going 1 for 8 with runners in the score position.
“Listen, we want to have a good process, that’s what you can control,” said Cubs director Craig Counsell. “But that always involves swinging on the balls – the right throws – so it doesn’t change no matter who is tangle, it’s always the same thing.”
Seiya Suzuki was the only Cubs striker to connect for several strokes on Friday, with six other representing the rest.
One of them was Pete Crow-Armstrong, who managed in nine of the 11 games in June. The central defender has not played more than two games without success this season.
The 23-year-old is not afraid to continue after land outside the area, with a 43.9%prosecution rate, well above the major league average (28.5%). And that did not injure him in marble, because he has no high withdrawal rates.
“There is really no clear way to attack him,” said the Chicago launcher, Jameson Taillon “we all thought he was going to hit the big leagues, but the power is crazy. He puts balls back in the seats against good difficult throws.”
Matthew Boyd (5-3, 2.89 ERA) will take the mound for the Cubs on Saturday.
The left -hander, who abandoned two points (a deserved) at eight strokes in six rounds during a decision without a decision against the Phillies on Monday, will seek his first career victory against the pirates. It is 0-3 with an MPM of 6.53 in six career starts against Pittsburgh. Boyd launched five two -point ball rounds in a decision without a decision at Pittsburgh on April 30.
The pirates, on the other hand, will seek to maintain a successful section which has seen them win seven of their last 10 games. Four of these victories were decided by a race.
Isiah Kiner-Falefa connected for the winning game race on Friday, leading to the automatic runner Adam Frazier with a 10th-round sacrifice fly. Back at the stopping stop this season after spending a lot of time last year in the second or the third, the 30-year-old veteran begins to find his way after a tension with the right hamstrings put him away in early May.
“We had a long way to go,” said Kiner-Falefa. “Work on it every day, always gets used to being back at the stop stop. So, every time you have these games and play games, simply establish the momentum. I do my best there, and I think it will be better.”
Mike Burrows (1-1, 5.00 ERA) will get the head sign for pirates. This will be the first career appearance against the Cubs for right -handers, in his sixth major league game (his fifth this year).
