Wrexham news: Cardiff City Cup draw ‘needs no explanation’ to Wrexham team

Wrexham go into the game with the Bluebirds having won four points from the last six on offer in the Championship while Cardiff have lost three of their last six League One games.

And Parkinson believes his side can exploit Cardiff’s opening, but admits he has little interest in who holds favorite status for the match.

“I’ve had a good look at Cardiff, they’re a good team, everyone who is at the top of their respective leagues has talent in the team,” added the Wrexham boss.

“They give up chances, but they can score. They’re a pretty open team, especially in transition, so I think it will be an entertaining game.

“Are we favourites? Home advantage, a division above them, I imagine the bookmakers will have us as slight favourites, but that doesn’t worry me either way.

“All we are focusing on is our performance level and the choice of team and bench that we believe can give our fans bragging rights in this Welsh derby.”
