WPL Auction: It is likely to be held in Delhi on November 26-27; BCCI explores two cities for IPL 2026 auctions | Cricket News

Navi Mumbai: The Women’s Premier League (WPL) auction will take place in New Delhi at the end of November, a BCCI source confirmed to TOI on Thursday. The Indian Premier League (IPL) auction will take place in mid-December.“The WPL auction will be held on November 26 or 27 in Delhi. For the IPL auction, we are exploring two or three cities – in India and abroad – and will finalize one eventually,” the source revealed.
With the last WPL mega-auction having taken place three seasons ago, this will be a mega-auction, which will likely involve a complete reshuffle of squads. Currently, there are five teams in the WPL and a maximum size of 18 players, so almost 90 players are expected to be auctioned, with a few high-profile players retained by their franchises. As previously reported, the fourth season of the Women’s Premier League is expected to take place in January 2026. Normally, the WPL takes place between February and March, but this time the tournament schedule is likely to be brought forward to ensure that it concludes before the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup, which will be hosted by India and Sri Lanka in February-March.
