France Flanker Axelle Berthoumiu will miss the semi-final of the World Cup against England after being banished for 12 games to bite the Aoife brochure in Ireland in the quarter-finals on Sunday.

Berthoumieu faced a disciplinary hearing on Monday after being cited for the incident in the second half of the victory of France 18-13 against Ireland.

France had returned from 13-0 to half-time to reserve their place in the last four, but the result was quickly overshadowed by the controversy when images emerged to show Berthoumieu biting the arm of Wafer during a breakdown.

Wafer was seen talking about the referee loves Barrett-previous, making a gesture towards her arm and indicating that she had been bitten.

Ireland captain Sam Monaghan later confirmed that she had raised the problem with those responsible, although no measure was taken during the match.

“I spoke to the referee,” said Monaghan. “Aoife told me. I didn’t see it myself but I spoke to the referee and asked them.”

France of the second row Manae Feleu was also cited after the match for a high tackle for which it received a ban on three games. The 25 -year -old man should call on the duration of his suspension alongside Berthoumieu on September 16.

A global rugby statement reads as follows: “An independent committee for the revision of fault games (FPRC) has summoned itself to consider quoting complaints published against Axelle Berthoumiu (Law 9.12, Bite) and Manae Feleu (Law 9.13, dangerous tackle) after September 14.

“The FPRC, chaired by Brenda Heather-Latu (Samoa), joined by Ofisa Tonu’u (New Zealand) and Valeriu Toma (Romania), examined the cases and proposed a sanction of 12 games for the success of the Berthumie intervention program).

“Feleu did not accept the proposed sanction of the FPRC and its appeal will be understood by a disciplinary committee. With regard to Berthoumieu, while the player accepted that the action justified a red card, the proposed duration of the sanction is on appeal and that the case will now be heard by a disciplinary committee.

“The two hearings are temporarily scheduled for Tuesday, September 16.”

The semi-final between England and France takes place on Saturday in Bristol at 3.30 p.m., New Zealand playing Canada in the first semi-final on Friday evening.
