Could cocoa supplements fight heart disease and promote longevity?

A new study shows that a daily cocoa extract supplement can provide protection against age -related heart disease.

Data from nearly 600 elderly people found that participants who took this type of supplement had significantly lower levels of an inflammation biomarker linked to age -related heart disease – suggesting that cocoa has anti -inflammatory properties that can result in heart -protective advantages, according to researchers.

Cocoa supplements can combat inflammation linked to aging

In a large initial survey called Cosmos (studying cocoa supplement and multivitamous results), researchers have randomly assigned more than 20,000 adults to receive 500 milligrams (MG) of cocoa extract or placebo (a dummy pill).
