With the American protest marches, they receive a policy of independence day

|

Washington- Hundreds of Americans have decided to dispense with barbecue festivals and festive rallies, which generally distinguish the celebrations of July 4 of each year, and preferred to go to the streets of Washington, DC to express their rejection of what they describe as a “growth of fascism” in the country.

The walk started on Friday afternoon from the “Logan Surkel” square, where hundreds gathered with a remarkable presence of Palestinian Keffiyehs and flags, and banners saying “no to fascism” and “Trump must be left now”.

The march was the culmination of 4 days of the protest movements which were created in a certain number of American states to coincide with the day of independence, within the framework of a national campaign under the slogan “Free America”, launched by political and community alliances, in particular the “march of women” and the movement “50501” and the organization “refuses fascism”.

The campaign activities have varied between popular markets and collective readings of the independence document, organized in more than 150 cities, and ended with the march of the capital, which was promoted as the time to “declare the independence of fascist America”, as a symbolic message between President Donald Trump’s policies.

The event was opened with words issued by civil and human rights activists, who understood calls to confront what they described as the “new authoritarian system” which threatens civil freedoms, denouncing Trump’s unconditional support for Israel, and his administration was involved in internal and external repressive policies, as they said.

With expulsion and against her

The demonstrators headed for the White House in the middle of the strict security control of the capital’s police who accompanied the demonstrators along the way, while the garden before the White House was completely closed, to an exceptional security measure which prevented the demonstrators from approaching the external fence.

Walking participants raised slogans condemning immigration policies adopted by the Trump administration, and they were particularly condemned by arrest and expulsion campaigns implemented by American Immigration and Customs Agency, which has increased in recent months by targeting irregular immigrants.

While the songs were against the collective expulsion and the criminalization of illegal immigrants, a limited number of supporters of President Trump gathered on the other side, one of them raised a banner calling for “the expulsion of all irregular migrants”, and the police tried to separate the two parties after the verbal skirmish which turned into a direct shock, before the security staff to prevent the verbal skirmish.

Controversial

The march coincided with the same day with the signing by the American president Trump of what is known as a “major and magnificent bill”, a legislation which sparked a great wave of controversy in political and media circles.

The demonstrators expressed their rejection of this law, which is considered in their opinion, additional evidence of what they described as a “fascist” orientation within the State, and denounced the enormous tax exemptions included in the interests of the wealthy, in exchange for a strong reduction in financing programs such as “Medicid” and “SNAP” for health care services and basic food aid for low -income people.

On the other hand, the law grants new privileges to large companies and high income groups, in some cases, reaching hundreds of thousands of dollars per year.

One of the participants in the march expressed his concern about the country’s path, saying: “We refuse to steal money from health care programs and the poor and children. What is happening is the redistribution of wealth in the interest of some who are increasingly rich in the detriment of those who do not have the minimum of decent life.”

“We reject any change that includes the Constitution, because it will weaken the authority of the judiciary, and the electoral system may have changed. One day can come when we can no longer vote, and that is what Trump is looking for.”

Palestine is present

The Palestinian question was not absent from the scene, because a remarkable number of Kufic participants wore and wore the Palestinian flags, and chanted the slogans of the “free Palestine”, because they raised banners condemning what they described as “unconditional support” supplied by the American administration in Israel, in particular in the light of the continuous war.

In this context, one of the participants expressed his anger at the “complicity of the Trump administration with the crimes committed in Gaza, saying:” I am here to draw attention to what is happening in Gaza and the suffering of the Palestinians. Trump is clearer and more public than former president Joe Biden in his support for Israel, and does not hide all his bias.

He added in a statement to Al -jazeera Net: “All those who try to criticize Israel today are subject to repression and pursuit. It is not only a political bias, but rather a complete attack on our civil freedoms and our freedom of expression.”
