With Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray questionable for Sunday’s road game against the Indianapolis Colts, the team elevated quarterback Kedon Slovis from the practice squad to the active roster on Saturday.

Murray injured his foot in the third quarter of last week’s 22-21 loss at home to the Tennessee Titans and was able to finish the game.

Murray missed practice Wednesday and Thursday before participating Friday in a limited capacity. If he can’t play Sunday, Jacoby Brissett is expected to start against the Colts with Slovis as his backup.

If Murray can play, the Cardinals will operate with three QBs on the roster. Murray, 28, hasn’t missed a game since missing Weeks 1-9 in 2023 while recovering from surgery for a torn ACL.

Murray has completed 68.3 percent of his passes for 962 yards with six touchdowns and three interceptions in five starts this season. He ran for 173 yards and a score.

Slovis, 24, played at BYU in 2023 before going undrafted. He also played one season in Pittsburgh and three in Southern California. He attended training camp with the Colts last season and the Houston Texans this season before being released on Aug. 26 and being signed to the Cardinals’ practice squad two days later.

Brissett. 32, took most of the reps in practice this week. He has made 53 career NFL starts, including 30 during his time with the Colts from 2017-2020.
