Windy Monday; Showers return Tuesday

Windy Monday; Showers return to south-central Pennsylvania Tuesday
Highs will remain below average, in the 40s, for the next 3 days
EMERGENCY SITUATIONS. BACK TO YOU. GOOD AFTERNOON. THE GOOD NEWS IS WE DON’T REALLY HAVE WINTER WEATHER YET IN THE SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY. IT’S WINDY THERE THAT WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE DAY TODAY, THEN SOME RAIN WHEN WE GO TOMORROW. FOR SOME PARTS OF THE AREA HERE, IT LOOKS LIKE THEY WILL BE MOSTLY SOUTH OF THE HIGHWAY. AS WE LEAD TO WEDNESDAY, IT’S A CLOUDY AND COOL DAY. HIGHS WILL BE IN THE 40S HERE THE NEXT DAYS, AND IN PART BECAUSE THE WINDS ARE NORTHWEST BRINGING COOLER AIR, AND YOU CAN SEE THE GUSTS HERE 23 mph gusts in DUNCANNON, 20 in Elizabethtown, 37 mph gusts in Lancaster, and 38 mph gusts there. IN HARRISBURG, 23 IN CASHTOWN. So if you’re trying to find your cat, a trash can because it’s trash day, you want to check your neighbor’s yard here because these next few hours it’s going to be very windy in the area. BUT NOTICE HOW THIS DECREASES THROUGH THE EVENING AND NIGHT HOURS. BY TOMORROW THE GUSTS WILL BE APPROXIMATELY 10 TO 15 MPH. So if you have a trash day tomorrow, the good news is that the trash cans should stay where they should be. But for now, storm team, live radar network. IT’S QUIET SOUTH OF THE HIGHWAY, BUT WE’RE HAVING A FEW RAIN SHOWERS AND SNOW SHOWERS MIXING INTO PARTS OF NORTHEAST MIFFLIN AND JUNIATA COUNTY NEAR MCCLURE. There, along the 522, just outside of Lewistown. It looks like it’s right on top of the ridges. We actually see it hit the ground here. BUT ANYWAY, IF YOU’RE TRAVELING ALONG THE 522 TODAY, KNOW THAT YOU CAN SEE SOME RAINDROPS AND SNOWFLAKES MIXING IN HERE BECAUSE OF THIS NORTHWEST WIND BRINGING IN THIS MOISTURE FROM THE LAKE, AND THAT’S HELPING TO GET SOME OF THESE SHOWERS MIXED THERE. BUT MOST OF THIS SHOULD STAY LONG. AND NORTH OF I-80 DURING THE AFTERNOON HERE. So Harrisburg, you have cloud cover. YOU HAVE THE WIND. I think you’ll stay dry, though, during the day today. IT’S CURRENTLY 44 DEGREES IN THE CAPITAL. NORTHWEST WINDS AROUND 20MPH. It adds a little freshness. IT’S 36 OUTSIDE RIGHT NOW AND STAY THIS THROUGHOUT THE DAY TODAY. SO EVEN THOUGH THE TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE ENTIRE RIM HERE, EXCEPT THE TOP OF BLUE RIDGE, ARE IN THE 40S, IT FEELS LIKE THE 30S THERE BECAUSE OF THIS WIND. And like I said, this continues throughout the day today. SO THE TEMPERATURES THEMSELVES ARE GOING TO GET RIGHT AROUND 46. BUT BECAUSE OF THIS WIND, YOU’RE GOING TO FEEL CLOSER TO 35, 36 THROUGHOUT THE DAY TODAY. AND THESE TEMPERATURES WILL FALL INTO THE 30’S OVERNIGHT, RIGHT AROUND THE FREEZE MARK IN THE AREA, WHICH IS NEAR THE AVERAGE FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR, THESE WINDS WILL ALSO CALM DOWN. WITH THIS MOSTLY CLEAR SKY. AND WE’LL SEE AS YOUR TOMORROW WILL BECOME CLOUDY AGAIN DURING THE AFTERNOON WITH A FEW SHOWERS MOVING THROUGH THE AREA, ESPECIALLY STILL SOUTH OF THE HIGHWAY. HERE A FEW FLAKES MAY MIX IN FOR THE NORTHERN COUNTIES HERE OTHERWISE WE WILL BE IN THE 40’S. WILL BE TOO WARM FOR ANY WINTER WEATHER IN THE SOUTH. BUT BY WATCHING PREDICTOR HERE YOU CAN SEE WHAT I WANT. WE ARE GETTING CLEAR SKY OVERNIGHT TONIGHT AND IN THE AREA HERE HIGH PRESSURE IS COMING IN FOR A SHORT PERIOD. THESE CLOUDS START TO RETURN TOMORROW MORNING AND AFTERNOON. A LITTLE BIT OF HIGH MIX TRYING TO MIX THERE. IT LOOKS LIKE A PART OF FRANKLIN COUNTY AROUND 1:00 PM HERE. AND THEN DURING THE EVENING, THAT’S WHERE WE GET MOST OF THE PRECIPITATION STILL SOUTH OF THE HIGHWAY, BUT YOU CAN SEE A BIT OF THAT MIXING INTO THE NORTHERN COUNTIES HERE ALONG THE TOP OF THE RIDGES. WE CAN GET A LITTLE COOLER TEMPERATURES, THAT MAY HELP WITH THE TRANSITION TO THIS. MIX A LITTLE BIT HERE. ALL THIS IS MOVING BUT WEDNESDAY MORNING. SO NO PROBLEM FOR THE WEDNESDAY MORNING JOURNEY. THIS IS GOOD NEWS. BUT IT WILL BE COOLER THROUGHOUT THE AREA HERE. WHEN WE LOOK AT THE TEMPERATURES, THEY WILL ONLY peak in the 40s here over the next few days. SO CLEAN THE LEAVES. DEFINITELY NOT A GOOD DAY TODAY BECAUSE OF THE WIND. MAYBE TOMORROW AND WEDNESDAY BUT BECAUSE IT WILL BE A LITTLE QUIET IN THE REGION. When we look at your ten day forecast, if you don’t want to deal with the 40s, well, we get back into the 50s on Thursday and then 56 effectively on Friday. But this is our next chance for a few showers. Looks like it’s for the weekend. SUNDAY WILL BE THE DRIEST OF THE TWO DAYS HERE. AND THEN WE’RE IN THE 50’S

Hello, After a gusty windy Sunday, we are expecting a windy Monday, but the winds will not be as strong. A rain/snow shower is possible this morning, but it won’t slow you down. Morning temperatures are between 30 and 40 degrees. Expect sustained northwest winds gusting to 15-25 mph, with gusts to 35 mph today. Highs will reach the mid 40s under a mix of clouds and sunshine. If you factor in the wind, it will feel like we’re hitting the upper 30s this afternoon. This evening the sky will clear and the winds will decrease. Lows will fall to the 30s. We’ll see brief sunshine early Tuesday, then increasing clouds. Highs will reach the mid 40s. Light rain will develop towards the evening, as the low passes to our south. Expect 0.10″ to 0.20″ of rain south of the PA Turnpike and a few hundredths of an inch to the north. A few flakes may mix at elevation north of the Turnpike without accumulation. Clouds and below-average temperatures persist Wednesday. Highs will hover in the upper 40s with light winds. Thursday will also see mostly cloudy skies, light winds and highs near 50 degrees. By Friday, a few showers are possible with the arrival of a warm front. Highs will be milder, in the mid 50s. A cold front will pass through Saturday with additional showers, but rain totals appear light. Finally, more sunshine will arrive from Sunday until early next week. Highs will remain in the 50s with dry weather through Tuesday for pre-Thanksgiving travel. Have a good day !
