New Jurassic World Sequel Brings Back an OG Jurassic Park Character

Warning: This article includes MAJOR SPOILERS for Jurassic World: Chaos Theory Season 4!
Jurassic World: Chaos Theory Season 4 brings back an unexpected OG Jurassic Park character for the series’ final season. Since the beginning of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, each season has felt like an enjoyable continuation of the camp family’s story. Unfortunately, after 5 seasons of Camp Cretaceous and 4 seasons of Chaos Theory, the story of the Nublar Six has finally come to an end.
However, just because their story lasted nine seasons doesn’t mean it ended smoothly. Jurassic World: Chaos Theory Season 4 packs a punch in terms of story and character relationships. The Nublar Six finally succeed in destroying the Ring of Assassin Dinosaurs, but they need the help of a few familiar faces.
In addition to reuniting with some minor characters from previous seasons of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory, the Nublar Six also encounter an OG Jurassic Park character whose appearance was as surprising as it was perfect.
Dr. Henry Wu Returns to Jurassic World: Chaos Theory Season 4
Throughout Jurassic World: Chaos Theory, many characters from the films return. However, one of the most surprising is Dr. Henry Wu. Although he appeared several times throughout the franchise, there wasn’t necessarily a clear connection to the Jurassic World: Chaos Theory storyline.
He’s clearly not an evil mastermind who sends dinosaurs to murder a group of children. Of course, he made the Indominus as a weapon. Evil in the name of science is still evil, but his actions aren’t quite the same as actively ordering the murder of the Nublar Six. This would be completely out of character for the character.
Plus, by the time season 4 of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory arrives, he regrets his choices. Luckily, the show found a way to include it in a way that feels authentic rather than forced. Plus, they included a big twist that makes him even more likeable as a character.
Dr. Wu was secretly behind the axis of the Therapod project
Jurassic World: Chaos Theory has slowly but surely solved the mystery of Project Therapod Axis, which created the assassin dinosaurs. The first season, we discover the Handler. The second season they introduce us to the broker, Soyona Santos. In season three, we find out that, of course, big bad Dr. Lewis Dodgson from Jurassic World is hiring Santos on behalf of Biosyn.
It seemed the mystery was solved; However, season 4 adds a tragic twist. Dr. Henry Wu is the forefather of the Therapod Axis project and he deeply regrets starting it. At first, the scientist had good intentions. He thought he could train dinosaurs to serve as search and rescue animals at disaster sites. In his ideal world, they would have replaced search and rescue dogs.
However, Dr. Lewis Dodgson allowed Dr. Wu to continue the program with the evil goal of creating murderous dinosaurs. This is once again an example of “fuck yourself and find out” which sounds like the phrase that best describes the Jurassic Park franchise. Unfortunately, Dr. Wu is left with the crushing guilt of causing many of the franchise’s biggest problems.
Dr. Wu continues to work with Nublar Six after Biosyn
To make up for his mistakes, Dr. Wu does everything in his power to stop Biosyn. He even tells the Nublar Six the location of the backup data on Project Therapod Axis so they can destroy it. Since he has already taken care of the original data, this will prevent Biosyn from continuing to use his research in the name of murder.
As shown at the end of Jurassic World Dominion, he also studies Beta and Maisie’s DNA to find a solution to the locust outbreak. He eventually released modified locusts carrying a pathogen, which would eradicate the gigantic locusts wreaking havoc around the world. He even gave credit to Charlotte Lockwood.
The ending of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory reveals that the Nublar Six stayed with Darius so they could continue working with Dr. Henry Wu to repair the damage he caused. They organize agricultural support groups for those affected by the locust invasion, although it is unclear what this entails. They also plan to rebuild Biosyn as a sanctuary.
The return of Dr. Wu is the perfect way to conclude the story of the Nublar Six
While I didn’t expect Dr. Wu to return in Season 4 of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory, this seems like a perfect way to wrap up the Nublar Six story. Henry Wu has been around since the very first movie, so he’s an OG. He is present throughout the Jurassic World films. Additionally, he also appears in the very first season of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, which kicked off the Nublar Six story.
Until its appearance, I wasn’t sure that Season 4 of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory was truly the end of the Nublar Six story. However, his appearance in the final season brings the story full circle, providing a bittersweet sense of closure.
Surprisingly, it was Dr. Wu who Jurassic World: Chaos Theory season 4 needed to feel fully complete. I can now accept that we probably won’t see Darius, Kenji, Ben, Sammy, Yaz, and Brooklynn on screen again. Their story is over and it’s time to pass the torch to another group of characters.
