Wimbledon 2025: Nicolas Jarry on health battles while he is preparing to face Cameron Norrie

When Jarry’s symptoms started, it was classified in the top 20 of the world and increasing, having reached the final of Rome Masters, where he was beaten by Alexander Zverev.

Jarry has been informed that it would take three weeks to recover, but still has episodes per year. Tennis is a good form of rehabilitation, given the coordination of a look she needs, but he fought for victories, falling to 143 in the world and suffering from six successive Grand Chelem outings in the first round.

He remembers having the impression that everything “moved like a tornado” in Rome, but it quickly dissipated.

A feeling similar to the French Open before a match leaves it “not connecting with the ball” and “reading the bad game” before his return to Chile, where he knew the worst incident to date.

Jarry also plays table tennis to help its recovery, and a positive race in Wimbledon cannot be encouraging.

Emotional in the court after beating the talent of the Joao Fonseca teenagers in four sets on Friday, Jarry said: “It’s incredible to put my best performance here in Wimbledon, my favorite tournament of all.”

There is a reason why this tournament means so much for him.

This race for the fourth round corresponds to that of his grandfather Jaime Fillol, who reached the same scene in Wimbledon in 1974.

“I came here with him when I was 10 and 11 years old. Since then, I have been in love with this tournament,” said Jarry.

“It was very difficult physically, emotionally, psychologically.

“I tried to come back to my level and trust myself again.”
