SEPTA cancels several regional trains for Monday morning commute amid Silverliner IV safety inspections

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — SEPTA canceled several trains on its regional rail routes for the Monday morning commute as part of ongoing safety inspections of the Silverliner IV fleet.
Trains on the Airport, Fox Chase and Chestnut Hill West lines are affected, including 9411, 412, 425, 802, 809 and 814.
SEPTA released a statement on its website saying, “Passengers should expect crowded conditions, skipped stations, delays and cancellations as Regional Rail trains undergo large-scale, federally mandated inspections.” »
They also added that all trains will make local stops until further notice.
The transit agency says additional trains will be canceled later Monday: 9426, 9435, 436, 449, 9450, 9459, 460, 473, 821, 826, 833, 838, 845, 850, 857, 862.
The cancellations come after the Federal Railroad Administration granted SEPTA a two-week extension to complete inspections of its aging Silverliner IV Regional Rail fleet.
