Many television programs have had to recalibrate things in the past five years, because the reality of the production of different series had to welcome difficulties through industry. An affected show was “Chicago PD”, which stopped to see what worked and what could be changed before season 8. After having lived in 32 different reception houses, Rojas lived in the street until she joined the police academy and found her goal in the intelligence section. Many scenarios offered for his character have been interrupted, a pill that is difficult to swallow for fans of “Chicago PD”. It is often the case that these types of swaps occur halfway through the race of a program while the writing team and the showrunner are trying to establish a new reference base for the program after a quick start, and this certainly seems to be the case here.
As sad as it all seem to Chavez, there was a silver lining for the actress after she was written out of the show. Namely, that it would jump to another beloved program on another network immediately after work on the final of season 7 of “Chicago PD”, it can be difficult to lose a place in such a stable show, and the universe “One Chicago” on NBC is definitely qualified, but it softens the blow for something high enough for profile.

Season 7 of “Chicago PD” ended with Rojas helping to arrest a fireman along with Kevin Atwater of Laroyce Hawkins. The pandemic forced people who made “Chicago PD” to jostle while making a makeshift final until they could understand the next steps, and that would spend the end of the time of officer Chavez with the show. Unfortunately, they took a look at the landscape and decided that they would not need to keep it to find out more. But, there was a quick rescue for the detective because the “Legends of Tomorrow” of the CW were too eager to recruit Chavez for their sixth season.
In the beloved program of Arrowverse, Chavez played Ezperanza “Spooner” Cruz, who is a paranormal investigator who came on board the Waverider ship of the main distribution to help Caity Lotz and the group of heroes of DC of Jes Macallan. Chavez would compete before the return of the CW show in season 6. “Legends of Tomorrow” is a very different show from “Chicago PD”, however, the overall potatoes and the adventure of the week help them bind them in practice. Not to mention the fact that by season 6 of “Legends of Tomorrow”, the Arrowverse programs were a television institution for comic fans and regular television enthusiasts.

“The Legends of Tomorrow” only ran two more seasons after Chavez joined the DC Oddball comic book team, but this late period of the show was really fun for most of the actors involved. It became clear to the end that the CW was going to undergo changes in the future, and the creative team used this knowledge as a license to really pursue daring and fun choices with the time they left. “Legends of Tomorrow” loved time travel as a kind of constant theme, and things fell back in this late period, so that the actors were also able to play doppelgangers and participate in a great narration to close the show.
Fans of “Chicago PD” were probably sad about Rojas’ abrupt release after the value of a season of stories and involvement, but this is how television is often happening. You have to be ready for anything, and it is clear that Chavez was ready to jump from a somewhat “serious” criminal drama to the kind of comedy drama in which “Legends of Tomorrow” specializes. There are rarely moments when both parties are taking over a decision to separate like this, but Chavez’s jump to the Arrowverse would certainly count.
