Why the head of the Brad Pitt Pit F1 team looks so familiar

Joseph Kosinski’s new “F1” blockbuster “focuses very carefully on Sonny Hayes, a 60 -year -old racing driver played by Brad Pitt. Sonny seems to be lucky because he lives in a van, and only meets both ends winning races here and there. Although he does not have a very solid career, Sonny seems happy. He ostensibly has a game problem, but he never presents serious obstacles to him. At the start of the film, the old friend of Sonny Ruben (Javier Bardem) reappears in his life, saying that his skills are necessary. Ruben directs a Formula 1 race team that has lost several times, and Sonny’s experience – not to mention his attitudes of the free and diabolical type – is required to put the team in shape.
Sonny takes the job and meets the crew of the stands. He notably became Noah’s coach (Damson Idris), a qualified driver, but an arrogant hotshot. He also begins an awkward romance with Kate (Kerry Condon), the team’s technical director. He encourages the young Jodie (Callie Cooke), apparently a new one, who only has to be guided a little closer. It takes long before everyone comes to admire and lioniser Sonny. Some of them even start carrying their socks like him; Sonny thinks that mismatched socks are lucky.
The first to put on incompatible socks is the main mechanic of the team, Dodge. Dodge is played by an actor named Abdul Salis, and he will certainly be familiar. Although it has been 22 years since his release, some can recognize him as the character of Tony in the modern modern Christmas classic of Richard Curtis “Love Enly”. Tony was, to remind readers, the best friend of Colin (Kris Marshall) who was fed up with British women and was determined to move to America, hoping that American women would find him fascinating and sexy simply because of his British.
Abdul Salis played Tony in love in fact
The gag of “love in fact” is that Colin turned out to be correct; When he arrives in America, he discusses several extremely attractive young women in a bar, and they indeed find it irresistible. Colin returns to England at the end of the film to present his American girlfriend Harriet (Shannon Elizabeth) to Tony, who is shocked. Tony also meets Harriet’s American friend, Carla (Denise Richards), who is instantly attracted by him and who practically begins to do with him in public. Abdul Salis is hilarious in his small role, offering a logical voice of disbelief to the wild affirmations of Colin.
Salis is better known in his native England where he played the Paramedic Chris in 65 episodes of the very long “casualty” medical drama, currently in his 39th season. It is the most old -fashioned medical drama in television history (although it does not contain a candle for the day’s day in America “general hospital”). Salis appeared mainly in the 2008 and 2009 seasons in the series, after its concert “Love Enly”. He also had roles in television shows like “Doctor Who”, “Mi High”, “Father Brown” and “Hard Cell”. More recently, he appeared as Eamon Valda in the Amazon High Level Amazon TV series “The Wheel of Time”. This show was unfortunately canceled.
On the film, we might have heard Salis’ voice in the recent Disney blockbuster “Mufasa: The Lion King”, where he played the Lion Chigaru. On the camera, Salis played a notable role in the historic drama of 2006 “Flyboys”, playing the pilot of the first real world war Eugene Jacques Bullard. The previous year, he also had a support game in the notorious bomb of Breck Eisner “Sahara”, with Matthew McConaughey, Penélope Cruz and Steve Zahn. Salis seems to settle on British television, sometimes moving away in the field of the consumer studio price; “F1” is only his last visit. Its affable nature, its professional meaning and its beautiful face will probably make it work for the years to come.
