Why the director of Superman James Gunn dropped “the heritage” of the film’s title

Since at least the “Superman” of Richard to give in 1978, Kal -el – sent heaven, raised as a human, has grown up as a savior – has been recognized as an allegory of Christ. Superman’s father, Jor-El, did not just send his son to Earth to save Kal-El’s life from their sentenced world Krypton, he did it to save the earth too.
Take the words that the previous silver screen Jor-el (Russell Crowe) gave his son (Henry Cavill) in “Man of Steel” by Zack Snyder:
“You will give the inhabitants of the Earth an ideal for trying. They will run behind you. They will trip. They will fall. But over time, they will join you in the sun, Kal. In time, you will help them to accomplish wonders.”
Jor-El in the Richard give “Superman” (played by Marlon Brando) is dressed in white, also evoking the Christian image typical of God. The Jor-El in “Superman” by Gunn (played by Bradley Cooper) is dressed in the same way. Cooper’s Jor-El did not give his son a replica of his conscience, only a recorded message from himself and his wife Lara (Angela Sarafyan), who was blurred when the baby’s ship Kal-El landed on earth.
Clark always supposed that the message was that his parents told him to save the earth. But Lex decodes the message and reveals the truth: Jor-el and Lara wanted their beloved son to governing this planet, brings her “weak” and “confused” people under the heel and restart Krypton again.
As Andrew Gladman previously wrote him for / film, this torsion is the relevance of the word “heritage” to the themes of the film. The heritage of Superman and Krypton’s inheritance is not what he thought it was (or what the public expected “Superman” films). Clark is incredulous and scary to this revelation, but with advice from his adoptive father, Jonathan Kent (Pruitt Taylor Vince), he realizes that his heritage is his own choices. He wants to do good, and that’s what he will do.
The end of “Superman”, where Clark watches the films at the house of himself by growing up in Kansas with his adoptive parents, is both forward and back. Clark literally remembers the past, but with a renewed renovation as to the inheritance, he will continue to leave. Even without “inheritance” as part of the title, these themes go through strong and strong in the film.
“Superman” is now available for rental or physical and digital purchase.
