Why the creators of Young Justice did not even want to make the show at the beginning

Developed by Glen Murakami, “Teen Titans” was a series of action comedy. The artistic style and the conceptions of characters from the artist J. Wyatt have taken the influence of the anime (note the round faces of the characters, the triangles and the big eyes). The titans behaved as if they were also in an anime, that is to say becoming “chibi” (super distorted) and shouting strong during the success of the comedy. There was an aura of the realization of wishes for the series; The Titans were the best friends living with without parents and being superheroes, that is to say the craziest dream of each look.

“Teen titans” could Be dark, granted. Season 2 has adapted the history of comics “The Judas Contract”, where New Titan Recruit Terra (Ashley Johnson) betrays them to their enemy, Slade (Ron Perlman). In the episode “Spellbound”, Raven (Tara Strong) falls in love with the mind of a beautiful sorcerer trapped in a spell book, a scary warning to children of dangers to trust friendly foreigners that you meet online. These are exceptions to the rule, however.

On “Young Justice”, the rule was what had been the exception of “Teen Titans”. During the first in the series, the acolytes Robin (Jesse McCartney), Aqualad (Khary Payton, who had been a cyborg on “Titans”), and Kid Flash (Jason Spisak) convince their mentors of the justice league that they are ready for more responsibilities. Thus, their mentors attribute them to a secret team, which will manage the secret missions too delicate for famous heroes like justice League. This is why they are just called “the team” – their goal is to be discreet, so no “fancy name”, as Weisman said.

Knowing now that Weisman and Vietti have thought of “Young Justice” as a series of spying really puts the series in perspective, because many autonomous episodes present intrigues centered on spying.

In episode 4, “Dropzone”, the team must infiltrate Santa Prisca, the island nation led by Bane (Danny Trejo). In episode 6, “Infiltrator”, the team must keep a targeted scientist for the assassination by the League of Shadows. Episode 11, “Terrs”, sees Miss Martian (Danica McKellar) and Superboy (Nolan North) lift herself in the prison of Belle Reve. There is also an entire arc on a secret mole in the team during season 1 of “Young Justice”, which is also “spy thriller” that a show can get it. Season 2 is based on this with a secondary intrigue in the course of infiltration of Aqualad in the criminal organization led by his father, Super-Villain Black Manta (Payton).
