Why said Maeve to the police where the Archie Corps had been buried in Mobland

Warning: Major Spoilers to come for episode 9 of Mobland

The penultimate episode of the first season of Mobland I saw one of the most important revelations of the series to date, as Conrad revealed that he had known from the start that Maeve had plotted against him, and that it was she who said to the police where the Archie body had been buried. The incredibly tense dinner at the end of episode 9 acted as a long -awaited breaking point, because Maeve and Conrad have literally reached blows, brandishing a broken bottle and a steak knife respectively, while Maeve broke it verbally. Dinner was interrupted, so there was no real resolution between the two.

Maeve was a first suspect in the Harrigan hunt that works with Richie Stevenson, given her coordination with Richie to kill Seraphina, even with the life of her eldest son in danger. It remains to be seen if Maeve was Richie’s Rat inside the Harrigan organization with regard to London Fentanyl operation. However, it was revealed that in addition to encouraging Conrad to kill his old friend Archie (who was actually working with Richie) Maeve made the anonymous call to the police on where to find his body. The question now is why.

Although they have been together for 60 years, Maeve and Conrad have been far from being a unified couple. In several episodes of MoblandConrad’s sordid past with women has been raised. In fact, before marrying Kevin, Bella Harrigan was one of her daughters, when she was only 20 years old and he was about fifty. Maeve’s hatred for Seraphina is purely due to the fact that it is the product of its infidelity, because it has been the product of a case for decades earlier. It is possible that Conrad has another floating son there, because Maeve mentioned “the other brother” of Kevin.

The last episode of Mobland will be available for streaming on Sunday June 1, 2025 on Paramount +.

This seems to be the motivation behind her by speaking to the police of the Archie body. This maneuver, as well as Maeve’s plan to kill Seraphina via Richie, was entirely intended to undermine her husband and push him off the edge on which he stands every day. Maeve called it clearly when they clashed at the head of the Harrigan dinner table, noting that his reign is over and everyone knows. Conrad is unstable and exaggerated, and Maeve is determined to ensure that it rolls throughout this hill.

Maeve’s Mobland plans are total chaos

There does not seem to be a real direction

Unfortunately, Maeve does not seem to be the manipulated and manipulative brain that she thinks she is. His plans do not seem to have a real direction, and on several occasions, his decision -making was downright confusing. She called Richie to have him denounce the location of Seraphina and simply trusted the word of a man whose woman she had just killed who would not harm her son, whom she also gave her in the process. It is either desperately naive or casual, but in the case of Maeve, it could be a bit of both.

Maeve does not have in mind the best interests of the Harrigan crime empire. She does not work with a spirit towards the future, nor does not establish a concrete operation so that her surviving son and grandson can prosper long after her departure. Maeve works for total chaos, with only the fall of Conrad in his mind. The resulting collateral damage do not care.

Why did Eddie speak to Conrad de Maeve?

Episode 9 opens with Conrad confronted with Eddie just when he woke up, and although the conversation was not shown, it is quite clear that Eddie has spread everything about Maeve’s machinations. Conrad probably knew before, or at least had concrete suspicions, but Eddie confirmed everything he needed to know. In other words, Eddie fears will be more than he is faithful to Maeve. Whether it is the right evaluation or not, Eddie thinks that Conrad is the most dangerous of his two clearly disadvantaged grandparents, then Conrad knew that he could take the truth to him.
